About Kopila Valley Sewa Samaj (KVSS): “A world where every child is safe, educated, and loved” KVSS is a non-profitable NGO registered in Surkhet, Nepal to provide support for children and families in the community. Our mission is to change the world by empowering Nepal’s children. Our programs include a residential children’s home, women’s empowerment center, sustainability, school, health and wellness, and family development. We provide our students a free education, educational materials, health treatment and medicine, counseling, and a place to live. With our innovative future program, we strive to provide our children with career guidance, and scholarships for further studies. We do this with our funding partner BlinkNow Foundation and in close ties with the local government and communities.
I. Job description: Finance Associate
Work Location: Birendranagar-4, Surkhet

Position Summary
Kopila Valley Sewa Samaj at this time is requiring the energetic, hard-working, receptive candidate in the position of Finance Associate. The Finance Associate of KVSS will work in close coordination with and strategic guidance from the Finance, the Finance Associate will provide support on financial management and accounting to maintain a transparent, accountable and responsible internal control system within the organization. This is a full-time position and long-term role in shaping the sustainable future of Kopila Valley.
Must Haves
- Education: At least Intermediate in accounting/finance,
- Experience: At least 2 years of proven experience
- Language: A good communicator, and fluent in English and Nepali
- Skills and Abilities: Strong computer skills, proficiency in MS word, excel. Ability to work in the team, and have teamwork spirit, ability to work under pressure, and ready to work long hours if required, 2-wheeler license. Works collaboratively and independently with the least supervision required.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Assist in all aspects of financial administration, including transaction processing, record keeping, and documentation.
- Collect, review, and process invoices and payment requests, ensuring all supporting documents are complete before scheduling payments.
- Assist and ensure timely processing of financial transactions, vendor payments, TDS, SSF, utilities payments, ETDS and other statutory obligations.
- Manage petty cash, update the Cash Book daily, and prepare monthly cash verification reports.
- Maintain books of accounts through proper journal entries and ensure systematic filing of vouchers and financial records.
- Perform banking tasks such as deposits, withdrawals, and collections.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly spending reports, bank and party reconciliations, donor financial reports, and reimbursement requests.
- Support annual statutory, donor, and internal audits, including follow-up on auditor recommendations.
- Perform other duties as assigned, maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism.
- Serve as acting finance personnel when delegated.

II. Job description: Social Mobilization Officer-Health & Wellness
Program description:
In Support of Blinknow foundation, Kopila Valley Sewa samaj (KVSS) is implementing education focused program for the needy community in Surkhet District phase III. Health & wellness is one of the important departments of KVSS that provides holistic development support including emergency response to our students and local community. It spreads promotional, preventive and basic curative healthcare services to students of KVS, staff and guardians along with some community outreach programs. Main components of the health & wellness program include clinic, nutrition support through local and organic foods, mental health and counseling support and family development program.
Family Development Program is for social wellbeing to create a positive support circle, and strengthen family’s capacity to resolve their issues by themselves and the individuals in the family can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Position Summary:
Social Mobilization Officer based in Surkhet with regular travels on the field (mainly in Birendranagar Surkhet and Karnali province), to assess the student and their family needs. S/he is responsible mainly for identifying needs of individual students and their family members to help meet those needs whenever possible. S/he will be providing individual, family and community level support, including awareness, psychoeducation, referral support and encouragement to develop willingness and enthusiasm by strengthening their resilience to cope with unpleasant situations and trauma.
S/he will work under the direct supervision of the Social Mobilization Coordinator and support to ensure that the H&W is ensure required coordination and liaison with provincial and municipal authorities, CBOs, NGOs and other stakeholder including student’s family/ caregivers for conducting health and wellness- family development program’s initiatives smoothly.
As an organization, KVSS is committed to ensuring that each beneficiary is safe, healthy, and able to use opportunities provided by Kopila Valley School and the other programs as much as possible. You will be an important part of maximizing what each beneficiary takes away from Kopila Valley, and maintaining the loving and caring atmosphere. The incumbent is adept at coordinating and collaborating with a diverse team to provide holistic care and support to children and families KVS/KVSS serving. You should have patience and enthusiasm about working with children and their family members to provide support for their overall growth and development through individualized assistance plans.

The Main Responsibilities
Mission 1. Ensure required coordination and liaison with provincial and municipality authorities, NGOs/CBOs and other concerned stakeholder.
Activities:
- Establish relationship and liaison with Ministry of Social Development: social development division, health service division, Education division and health service directorate.
- Establish relationship and liaison with Municipal and ward office, and other NGOs/CBOs.
- Represent KVSS during meeting at Provincial and Municipal level when participation of partners is required.
- Guide H&W team staff to select and meet relevant representative(s) of authorities, as per program’s needs.
- Keep H&W team updated on the key progress, changes on and its implication on program and target of
- Facilitate regular meeting with relevant line agencies and organizations.
Mission 2. Provide supports to H&W team to implement defined activities in communities.
Activities:
1. Planning, Assessment, Support and Referral
- Assess students and family’s needs, situations, strengths, and prepare interventions plans provide support to determine their goals
- Develop and implement intervention plans to improve students and family’s needs well-being and address challenges
- Advocate for students and family’s needs to access necessary resources, services, and benefits
- Provide counseling and emotional support to students and family’s needs facing personal or social challenges
- Organize community training, workshops and other events focused on social issues, parenting and education to raise awareness about educational equity and social justice issues within the community
- Together with team members, map potential stakeholders for emergency services and other referral support services
- Facilitate local service system: health, education, livelihood, admin/legal and social protection responsive to the most vulnerable populations such as person with disability, children, single women etc.
- Coordinating with KVS and supervisor, recommend for relevant referral support within and outside Kopila Valley
2. Community Outreach and Support
- Strengthen school-parent relationships by improving communication and understanding of children’s learning barriers, and provide individual and group sessions for academic, emotional, and social support.
- Assess community need, develop and implement outreach programs to raise awareness about the services offered by the organization through home visits, family meetings, workshops, and seminars on relevant social issues and available resources.
- Identify socially excluded and vulnerable people through socio-economic assessment, home visit, and support them for goal setting for personalized social support.
- Support vulnerable children and other population for social protection and rights promotion from harmonious relationship among family/care takers and service providers.
- Provide individual and group sessions to students going through academic, emotional and family/social difficulties
- Carry out Mapping of social service, social protection provision at other potential service providers at local level and linkage beneficiaries with them
- Conduct workshops and seminars on relevant social issues and available resources.
- Plan and execute networking visits of likeminded organizations and organize events to strengthen Referral system of KVSS
- Foster relationships with community members, stakeholders, and partners to enhance service delivery
3. Emergency repone and crisis management
- Serve as the focal person during any emergency situation (health, protection, psychosocial, or natural disaster) affecting students, families, or the community.
- Coordinate with the Program Coordinator (Health & Wellness) and other departments to ensure timely and effective responses during emergencies
- Facilitate the referral and linkage of affected families to relevant service providers, hospitals, or protection actors.
- Maintain updated contact lists of emergency responders, local authorities, health facilities, and community-based organizations for quick coordination and response.
- Develop and disseminate security plan and safety messages to students, parents, and the community during public health or environmental emergencies.
- Participate and represent KVSS in emergency coordination meetings, cluster forums, or government-led task forces when required.
Mission 3. Monitoring and evaluation
Activities
1. Documentation, Case Management, and Program Review
- Prepare and share weekly and monthly updates, prepare monthly, quarterly, and events reports.
- Ensure that reports, planning papers and other materials including records of students and families and other beneficiaries are documented and circulated timely as necessary and according to professional and confidentiality requirement.
- Monitor and evaluate students and family’s progress, adjusting plans as necessary
- Coordinate with other service providers, agencies, and community resources to ensure comprehensive care
- Organize periodic review and reflection meetings to evaluate program results, participate in program development and adaptation and assist in designing new initiatives to improved outcomes.
- Using tools like participatory rapid appraisal, participate in the specific development and evaluation of programs to meet the needs of the community
- Provide input and support to review program guides, including Family Development Program (FDP) for program adaptation per evolving context
- Understand the core value of child first and advocate for student’s wellbeing and rights within the school, family and community
- Assist in the design and implementation of new initiatives aimed at improving students and family’s outcomes
- Support program team in developing and collecting the case study, success story, human interest story.
- Facilitate monitoring visits of government authorities and donor
- In coordination with PC, ensure the visibility of Blinknow/KVSS wherever applicable in compliance with Blinknow rules

Must Have
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in social work, sociology, psychology or any relevant discipline/s.
- Experience: At least 3 years of proven experience in integrated program such as health, education, livelihood, psycho social counseling, community mobilization, case management at non-governmental organization.
- Language: A good communicator, and fluent in English and Nepali
Abilities:
- Ability to assess socio-economic status, coach and mentor children, youth and their activities
- Passionate about and cares for children and vulnerable population; initiator, and competent in managing operations and logistics in the organization.
