Lutheran World Relief (LWR) in Nepal seeks to recruit result-oriented individuals to fill the following positions;

1. TECHNICAL SENIOR MANAGER, FINANCIAL SERVICES– ID:3876557

Reporting to the Chief of Party, the Technical Senior Manager (TSM), Financial Services, will be responsible for managing the technical delivery and activities on the project in supporting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) to access financial packages that develop and grow their businesses and expand LWR/Corus’ technical qualifications in programming to position LWR’s technical work. The position will be based in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Education & Experience

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s with at least 7 years’ experience in finance, banking, business, enterprise development, or social science or equivalent combination of education and experience; Master’s is desired.  

S/he should have prior experience working in the FI/MFI, or within the banking sector, preferred. The candidate should have experience working with colleagues in a multicultural, multi-linguistic environment. Demonstrated experience managing terms and conditions as well as other international donors.

In addition, s/he should have proven track record of developing and maintaining strong working relationships with target beneficiaries, private sector entities, as well as host country counterparts and NGO/FBO/CBO actors.  Experience working with local and/or US-based and international partners (NGO/FBO/CBOs, universities and other technical institutions) is desired.

2. TECHNICAL SENIOR MANAGER, PRIVATE SECTOR ENGAGEMENT – ID:3876558

Reporting to Deputy Chief of Party, the Technical Senior Manager, Private Sector Engagement will be responsible for managing the technical delivery and activities on the project in aquafeed and aquaculture to expand private sector engagement to develop and grow the project and LWR/Corus’ technical qualifications and expand our technical programming to position LWR’s technical work. The position will be based in Janakpur, Nepal.

Education & Experience

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s with at least 7 years’ experience in business administration, economics, agribusiness, agricultural economics or equivalent combination of education and experience; Master’s is desired.  

S/he should have experience managing private sector engagement, agribusiness development, market systems strengthening or market-oriented initiatives in development programs. Experience working with colleagues in a multicultural, multi-linguistic environment is needed.

The candidate should have proven track record of developing and maintaining strong working relationships with private sector entities, government stakeholders, and trade associations or networks. In addition, s/he should have demonstrated experience managing terms and conditions as well as other international donors. Experience working with local and/or US-based and international partners (NGO/FBO/CBOs, universities and other technical institutions) is desired.

3. TECHNICAL MANAGER-FOOD TECHNOLOGY – ID:3879398

Reporting to the Deputy Chief of Party, the Technical Manager (TM), Food Technology will be responsible for managing and coordinating technical activities in food technology, compliance with food safety and sanitary and phytosanitary standards (SPS), and enhancing cold chain systems, providing technical assistance to develop and grow the project and contribute to technical programming to position LWR’s technical work. The competencies required to be successful in this position also include theoretical and practical understanding of food technology approaches, and ability to manage activities across the project locations. The position will be based at Kathmandu, Nepal.

Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years’ experience in food technology, food science, post-harvest technology or equivalent combination of education and experience; Master’s desired.  S/he should have experience in training and extension with farmers, farmer groups, and private sector entities, preferred. Experience working with colleagues in a multicultural, multi-linguistic environment. 

In addition, the candidate should have demonstrated experience managing terms and conditions as well as other international donors, desired. Proven track record of developing and maintaining strong working relationships with public and private sector. Experience working with US-based, international partners and or local (NGO/FBO/CBOs, universities and other technical institutions) is desired.

4. TECHNICAL MANAGER- TRAINING – ID:3883325

Reporting to the Deputy Chief of Party, the Technical Manager, Training is responsible for building the capacity and knowledge of farmers and value chain actors by managing and coordinating technical activities and providing technical assistance to develop and grow the project and contribute to technical programming to position LWR’s technical work. The competencies required to be successful in this position also include theoretical and practical understanding of adult training methodologies and approaches, the use of practical, hands-on learning and digital tools, and the ability to manage activities across the project locations. The position requires coordinating, contributing to, and supporting the technical implementation of training activities as well as providing technical inputs into project workplans, budgets, guidelines, training curricula, implementation tools, and reporting, and monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) in compliance with the requirements and regulations of the award. Duties include organizing and coordinating with the Chief of Party, Deputy Chief of Party, technical managers, sub-recipients, consultants, and headquarters or regional Technical Business Unit (TBU) staff. The position will be based in Janakpur, Nepal.

Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s with at least 5 years’ experience in social sciences, agriculture, aquaculture or equivalent combination of education and experience; Master’s desired. S/he should have experience working with colleagues in a multicultural, multi-linguistic environment. Proven experience in curriculum development, training of trainers (ToT), capacity building of adults, participatory training methodologies, and use of digital technologies to deliver training is required.  In addition, s/he should have proven track record of developing and maintaining strong working relationships with farmers, value chain actors, host country counterparts and NGO/FBO/CBO actors. Experience working with US-based and international partners and or local (NGO/FBO/CBOs, universities and other technical institutions is desirable.
