NIDS is currently implementing the project titled "Community Engagement for improvement in School Education" funded by USAID Civil Society and Media (CSM) Program with The Asia Foundation as lead implementer. The project is based in Madhesh.

Nepal Integrated Development Society (NIDS), a non-profit social development organization based in Sarlahi district, is announcing a vacancy for “Community Engagement for improvement in School Education,” funded by the USAID Civil Society and Media (CSM) Program - The  Asia Foundation, aiming to improve learning outcomes through community engagement in school education in Dhankaul Rural Municipality of Sarlahi District. Eligible candidates are requested to apply for the following positions:

1. Position: Project Coordinator – 1

The Project Coordinator (PC) is responsible for implementing project activities in the field in close coordination and collaboration with Local Government. S/he will be responsible to ensure project interventions are timely and effectively implemented in compliance with planning and expected results. Support effective coordination and collaboration with local government and other organization in the project area. Support in managing budget, work planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of project activities in the local level; S/he will work closely with group and municipality. S/he track activities delivery as per the plan and prepares Monthly, Quarterly and Final report and timely submits to relevant agencies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education (priority Master’s degree), development studies, gender and development and others social science with minimum 5 years of experience in local level project implementation.
  • Experience in Education Project will be given priority
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills and ability to work effectively in a team
  • Willingness to travel and stay in rural areas
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Local language is preferable
  • Strong, training, coaching, mentoring and facilitation skills
  • Strong community mobilization skills
  • Strong coordinating and monitoring skills
  • Ability to work independently and under strict deadlines
  • Should have own Motorcycle with License
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

2. Position: Program Officer– 1

The Program Officer (PO) is responsible for implementing the sub grant at the field level and managing the on-the ground execution of community engagement initiatives related to the fund’s educational projects. This role involves coordinating with local stakeholders, community leaders, and project team to ensure effective program implementation, monitor progress, gather feedback, and address any challenges that may arise.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, development studies, gender and development and others social science with minimum 3 years of experience in local level education project implementation.
  • Experience in Disability inclusion will be given priority
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills and ability to work effectively in a team
  • Willingness to travel and stay in rural areas
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Local language is preferable
  • Strong, training, coaching, mentoring and facilitation skills
  • Strong community mobilization skills
  • Ability to work independently and under strict deadlines
  • Should have own Motorcycle with License
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

3. Position: Finance and Operations Officer– 1

The Finance and Operation Officer will perform daily financial and administrative activities and responsible for financial reporting, various administration and finance activities, communicating with funding agency, monitoring the budget, forecasting, and other project implementation related work.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in management or equivalent with minimum 2 years’ experience in the same field
  • Prepare filing for vouchers with supporting documents and other necessary financial data entry.
  • Lead to maintain petty cash, prepare cash vouchers, replenish according to established petty cash level
  • Maintain and safely keep back up data of finance and finance related documents
  • Regular tracking of bank statement and deposit the tax as per the rules
  • Maintain staffs personal file updates and leave record of staffs
  • Field visit & onsite coaching, onsite verification
  • Preferred familiarization with Accounting Software
  • Lead to logistic support in arranging workshop, seminars, training and visitors
  • Maintain that both incoming and outgoing mails/documents 
  • Checking of goods when received and its required documentation. Also checking of goods to be dispatched and preparation of required documents
  • Management and well documentation of all admin and logistic documents as per requirements (taking backup e-documents and manually hard copies)
  • Maintain and handling the programs supply distributions and maintain their tracking system
  • Assist to carry out the market survey and physical verification
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

4. Position: Social Mobilizer– 1

The role of Social Mobilizer (SM) involves conducting a comprehensive needs assessment to identify gaps in education at school and collaborating on program development to address those needs. They assist in resource allocation, organize training and professional development for counselors, collect data, and evaluate program effectiveness.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least passed of Proficiency Certificate level with minimum 2 years of experience in community mobilization, facilitation, ward level plan formulation, report writing and supervision
  • Having good practical knowledge of basic computer and smart phone
  • Willingness to travel and stay in rural areas
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Local language is preferable
  • Able to coordinate with governmental, non-governmental organization and supporting structures at the local level
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
