Association of Youth Organizations Nepal (AYON), established in 2005, aims to bring youth organizations together to provide a common platform for collaboration, cooperation, joint actions and collective endeavors between youth organizations in Nepal. AYON is a national network of non-government, non-religious, not-for-profit youth organizations in Nepal. It acts as an umbrella organization of youth organizations. It calls for coordination, network, support and cooperation from the government, non-government, business institutions, civil society and young people for collaborative actions for youth programs and policies

USAID Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH) is an adolescent co-led initiative to empower girls and boys, 10-19 years including the most marginalized, to attain their adolescent reproductive health (ARH) rights. The goal of the program is to support adolescents to reach their full potential by; ensuring they receive correct and appropriate reproductive health (RH) information and guidance to decision-making skills, creating an environment conductive in making healthy reproductive health decisions and facilitating translation of these decisions into healthy behaviors.

AYON announces vacancy for the following positions to be a part of USAID Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH):

UM: Urban Municipality/ RM: Rural Municipality

Workstation: Project Location

Duration: up to 5 years depending on performance

Roles and responsibilities

  • Work closely with local implementing partners and municipalities to assess and form local youth groups at the municipal level. 
  • Responsible to provide technical assistance to existing and newly formed youth groups to register at the local level.
  • Promote social behavior change (SBC) on ARH through youth engagement in the community. 

Minimum Academic Qualification

  • +2 in Social Sciences with experience working with youth clubs, youth development, and public health. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences is preferred with one year of experience in public health and youth development. 

Specific Skills

  • Experience in providing guidance to local youth clubs and groups at the local level.
  • Strong knowledge of the health systems of Nepal including health governance.
  • Experience in coordinating multiple interventions and locations.
  • Strong knowledge about existing social norms around adolescent reproductive health and experiences in behavior change activities.
  • Competent in reporting and documentation.
  • Strong facilitation skills for meetings and training.

Remarks

  • Prior experience working in respective municipalities and familiar with the local language will be an advantage.

Position: HR and Admin Associate

Vacancy: 1

Workstation: Central Office Kathmandu with periodic field visits to Madhesh Province, Karnali Province and Lumbini Province

Duration: up to 1 year and possibility of extension depending on performance

Roles and responsibilities

  • Providing support in the various human resources and functions, which include recruitment, staffing and training and development
  • Planning the overall HR strategy and assist in creating and implementing HR policies and procedures
  • Monitor and map the engagement of staffs in the project

Minimum Academic Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management or relevant area with at least 3 years of working experience
  • Specific skillsHave sound knowledge about hiring analytics
  • Knowledge in performance management and employee evaluation
  • Excellent knowledge of various HR functions such as pay & benefits, recruitment, onboarding, evaluation, training & development etc. 
  • Good understanding of labor laws
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in MS Office

Position: Communication and Documentation Officer

Vacancy: 1

Workstation: Central Office Kathmandu 

Duration: up to 1 year and possibility of extension depending on performance

Roles and responsibilities

  • Develop and implement efficient communication and documentation strategy consistent with the strategic direction of organization
  • Organizing meetings with the stakeholders and preparing documents for the record 
  • Create website content; compile content from internal staff and the partner agencies
  • Prepare social media campaigns and ensure it has excellent and effective outreach and promotion
  • Attend meetings and record notes and messages for the project team 
  • Perform duties as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Academic Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Management, Finance or related filed

Specific skills

  • Manage public relations, information output, and media requests with proper documentation in alliance with the project requirements.
  • Experience with utilizing major social media platforms for promotional and public relations purposes, including drafting social media copy and graphics and developing social media campaigns
  • The ability to maintain an organized and efficient work environment;
  • The ability to multi-task effectively
  • The ability to research using on-line and traditional media;
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office; especially Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with oral and written communication skills
  • Proactive and attention to detail

Position: IT Officer

Vacancy: 1

Workstation: Central Office Kathmandu 

Duration: up to 1 year and possibility of extension depending on performance.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Ensure the proper management of official website and online official platforms
  • Prepare and implement data management system and ensure the proper functionality of the electronic devices being used in the office
  • Design and develop the promotional content for the official online platforms 
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
  • Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time

Minimum Academic Qualification

  • Bachelor degree in IT/ Computer Science or related field with relevant three years of experiences 

Specific skills

  • Have technical skills as a successful IT officer
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
  • Expertise in data center management and data governance
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office; especially Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
