Compassionate Hands for Nepal (CHFN)
1. Introduction
Compassionate Hands for Nepal (CHFN) is seeking to engage a qualified individual consultant or consulting firm to produce 2 short project impact video stories highlighting the SAFE and CCT projects. The video story will serve as a wider sharing document to showcase project achievements, impact, and fundraising.
2. Location: Sindhupalchok District Panchpokhari & Jugal
Project Details:
SAFE Project (Panchpokhari): The SAFE project fosters a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for at-risk girls and women and migrant returnees from abroad by:
- Preventing and addressing Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), Trafficking in Persons (TIP), and abuse.
- Promoting psychosocial support and respectful family environments.
- Building economic independence through entrepreneurial skills and local business support.
- Reducing unsafe migration by creating viable local opportunities.
CCT Project (Jugal): The local stakeholders together for Community Development and Protection Project adopt a community-to-Community Transformation (CCT) approach to address vulnerabilities (SGBV & HT issues) of girls and women in Sindhupalchok district, specifically Jugal Rural Municipality (RM). It focuses on envisioning and capacitating local communities and networks, using tools such as behavior change for gender equality and the Sangsangai Process to act as change agents. Key interventions include:
- Addressing sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), human trafficking (HT), and unsafe migration.
- Supporting income-generating activities (IGA) for selected SGBV/HT survivors.
- Mobilizing the community for holistic development and protection of vulnerable groups, particularly women and girls from marginal communities.
- Collaborating with civil society organizations (CSOs), local government, and stakeholders to formulate and implement policies such as the Local Committee on Controlling Human Trafficking (LCCHT) and the Ward Committee on Controlling Human Trafficking (WCCHT).
3. Timing and Duration:
The project should be completed within one and a half months, starting tentatively from 9, February 2026.
4. Methodology and responsibilities:
The consultant will carry out the following duties and responsibilities during the assignment:
- Discuss with the CHFN team and develop and share the concept and script of the short video story. The length of the impact story should be around 3 to 5 minutes each (2 videos)
- The consultant should consult with the CHFN team in Lalitpur and in the respective fields of Panchpokhari and Jugal. They should shoot videos/record interviews of such respective project locations for the purpose of the video story. CHFN will make necessary arrangements for ensuring access to those project locations.
- The consultant should be very sensitive about the privacy of the project participants while visiting the girls' and women's (project participants') The identity of the girls and women should not be disclosed in any circumstances, and any information gathered during the course of preparing the story should be kept confidential and should not be disclosed or published without the permission from CHFN.
- The consultant should share the final draft of the short video story with CHFN. The short video story would be finalized by the consultant after incorporating the suggestion or feedback from the CHFN team, if any.
- The consultant should submit the final video to the CHFN within the deadline, i.e. 15 March 2026.
5. Deliverables: The consultant will provide the following key deliverables for this assignment
| 1 | Submit the concept and script of the video story within 12 days (about 1 week and 10 days) of signing the agreement. The language of the script for the video should be in Nepali with English subtitles. |
| 2 | Submit the draft video story by 30 February 2026 in 1080p (HD) resolution after incorporating the suggestions and feedback of the CHFN. |
| 3 | Submit all RAW footage with the working file and materials captured during the shooting after completion of the project. |
6. Consultant Eligibility
The consultant will be responsible for ensuring the deliverable is provided timely and according to the standards set in this Terms of Reference (ToR). The expected qualifications and competencies required for the consultant and team include:
- Proven expertise in documentary production and visual storytelling, knowledge, and experience in the field of producing communication materials.
- Prior experience of producing content on knowledge management for development projects
- Ability to incorporate inclusive approaches and perspectives
7. How to apply:
This consultancy requires a brief concept note highlighting the methodological design including the work plan and quality assurance mechanisms. 2 samples from previously accomplished assignments are requested to share.

8. Deadline:

9. Miscellaneous:
i) The Compassionate Hands for Nepal (CHFN) will reserve all rights to qualify or disqualify any or all the applications and will not be obliged to give any reasons in either case.
ii) The Compassionate Hands for Nepal (CHFN) will reserve all right, title and interest, including all related intellectual property rights, in and to all the matters of the video story and short clip/animation
10. Payment Modality: Payment will be made in installments based on deliverables:
- 40% upon conceptualization, process, and methodology finalization as per scope of work.
- 60% upon the submission of final videos after incorporating feedback from the team.
11. Ethical Considerations
- Ensure confidentiality and dignity of all participants.
- Adhere to CHFN’s safeguarding, child protection, and GESI policies.
- Obtain informed consent before collecting any data.
