Consultancy Service for Content Development and Layout Design with Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Material on Inclusive Education

1. Background:

This announcement has been issued under the Project ACCESS-Accelerating Civil Society's Role in Securing Education for All in Madhesh, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces with financial support from the European Union. The project is led by People in Need Nepal in consortium with Accountability Lab Nepal (ALN), National Campaign for Education Nepal (NCE Nepal) and Nepal Disabled Women Association, and. 

The overall objective of the project is to contribute to improved participation of civil society in fostering access to equitable education and specific objective is to strengthened role of civil society in promoting access to education for marginalised children in Madhesh, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

To support these efforts, NDWA will develop Information, Education and Communication (IEC) and visibility materials that are attractive and easy to understand that can be used at different level i.e. Province government, local government and community schools. NDWA seeks a qualified consultant or design firm to review the project content and design accessible and engaging content and IEC materials using suitable layouts, illustrations, graphics and infographics about Inclusive Education that meet the project's communication and visibility requirements.

2. Objective of the Assignment

The objective of this assignment is to develop a comprehensive and engaging IEC material on inclusive education approaches and methodologies aligning with ACCESS project objectives and activities, that can effectively communicate key messages to the project beneficiaries and other relevant target audiences and stakeholders.

3. Scope of Work

The consultant is required to make the documents self-explanatory as much as possible through various creative methods, using graphics and pictorials addressing disability and inclusive education that that the wider audience can easily access more information from the documents.

Service Provider to deliver the following tasks:

• Review the IEC content provided by NDWA and organize it into clear, simple and easy-to-understand materials for different target audiences.
• Translate inclusive education into real, local examples, such as Universal Design for Learning, accessible classrooms, disability-friendly school infrastructure, and community support practices in Madhesh, Karnali and Sudurpaschim, so that LGs, schools, teachers, parents, and communities can clearly see what inclusive education means in daily school life, not just as a policy concept.
• Layout design, accessible and culturally appropriate IEC and visibility materials using suitable layouts, illustrations, icons, graphics and infographics.
• Improve the organization and presentation of the content without changing its original meaning.
• Produce high-quality print-ready and digital IEC materials that reflect the project's key messages, GEDSI principles, and visibility requirements.
• Incorporate the feedback on layout design and edit documents as required.
• Provide the final designed copy of documents to Nepal Disabled Women Association.

4. Deliverables:

The consultant will deliver:

• Final Designed copy for the IEC materials in (English /Nepali) as per the project requirements within 10 days of contract signing.
• Action plan of the whole IEC material development and design
• Draft submission - Soft copy of editable thematic content design, layout of final copy, with appropriate size as per the content.
• Sample design of IEC material
• Final design

5. Reporting and Coordination:

The consultant will work under the supervision and guidance of the Project Lead and the GEDSI Technical Specialist of NDWA.

6. Required Qualification and Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education and other social science or Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Visual Communication, Mass Communication or related field.
• Proven experience in designing IEC and visibility materials for development projects, preferably in education, disability inclusion, gender equality, or other social development sectors.
• Strong understanding of Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), Inclusive Education and experience in developing accessible, inclusive and culturally appropriate communication materials.
• Excellent graphic design and visualization skills, with proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop or similar design software, and good communication skills in English and Nepali.

7. Payment Modality:

The agreed amount will be disbursed after completion of assigned task and the above-mentioned deliverables only after the submission of authentic invoices on the name of Nepal Disabled Women Association.

8. Application Procedure
