Consultancy for develop the Intersectional Feminist Leadership and Capacity development training Package

1. Background

The Feminist Dalit Organization (FEDO) is implementing the project "Promoting Feminist Leadership for the Human Rights and Justice of Dalit Women and Girls in Nepal" with support from the Foundation for a Just Society (FJS). The project aims to strengthen feminist leadership, promote human rights and social justice, and enhance the leadership capacity of Dalit women and girls at community, provincial, and national levels.

To ensure systematic and sustainable capacity development, FEDO intends to develop a comprehensive Feminist Leadership and Capacity Development Package that will serve as a practical learning resource for project staff, community leaders, women’s groups, and Dalit women leaders.

2. Purpose of the Consultancy

The purpose of this consultancy is to design and develop a practical, context-specific, and participatory Feminist Leadership and Capacity Development training Package that reflects feminist values, Dalit perspectives, human rights principles, and inclusive leadership approaches, while contributing to building and strengthening the feminist movement.

3. Objectives

The consultant will:

  • Assess existing leadership development resources and identify learning needs.
  • Develop a comprehensive Feminist Leadership and Capacity Development Package.
  • Integrate feminist leadership, Dalit feminism, human rights, gender equality, social inclusion, and movement building concepts.
  • Facilitate consultations with FEDO management, Board Members, project staff, and selected stakeholders.
  • Finalize the package incorporating feedback from stakeholders.

4. Scope of Work

The consultant will undertake the following tasks:

  • Conduct an inception meeting with FEDO.
  • Review relevant project documents, reports, policies, and existing training materials.
  • Consult with the Executive Director, Board Members, project staff, and selected stakeholders to identify learning needs and priority content.
  • Prepare the framework and outline of the package.
  • Develop training modules, facilitators' guidance, practical excises, case studies, and learning tools.
  • Present the draft package to FEDO for review.
  • Revise and finalize the package based on comments and recommendations.
  • Submit all final editable and PDF versions of the package.

5. Expected Deliverables

7. Duration of Assignment

The consultancy will be completed within 30 working days from the date of contract signing.

8. Consultant Qualifications

The consultant should possess:

  • Master's degree in Gender Studies, Sociology, Development Studies, Social Work, Human Rights, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in developing training curricula or capacity development packages.
  • Proven expertise in feminist leadership, gender equality, human rights, social inclusion, and Dalit rights.
  • Experience working with civil society organizations and community-based leadership initiatives.
  • Excellent facilitation, analytical, and report-writing skills.
  • Strong understanding of the Nepalese socio-political context.

9. Reporting and Coordination

The consultant will work closely with the National Project Coordinator under the overall supervision of the Executive Director. Regular coordination meetings will be held with FEDO's management team and Board representatives throughout the assignment.

10. Payment Schedule

12. Ownership
