1. Background
Rural Health and Education Service Trust (RHEST) is a national non-government organization. Since its establishment in 1993, RHEST has been working to promote women and girl’s rights through various programs. The STOP Girl Trafficking (SGT) and In Honor of Amar (Amar) are the largest programs of RHEST in addition to its other smaller programs such as maternal health and nutrition programs.
The primary beneficiaries of RHEST programs are the girls at most risk to trafficking, child labor, unsafe migration, and child marriage because of their vulnerable social and economic setting. Aiming at protecting these girls from trafficking, unsafe migration, child labor, and child marriage, the Amar program, in partnership with the Foundation for a Just Society (FJS), provides educational support to girls in grades 11, and 12. Educational support to girls includes also technical education in various subjects.
The objective of the Program is to prevent human trafficking and gender-based violence amongst girls especially from marginalized groups through education. The Program contributes to the organization's goal to prevent human trafficking and gender-based violence in Nepal. The Program involves girls at risk as beneficiaries of the education support as well as aims to develop them into Activist to contribute to the program objective. The Program also contribute to strengthen the capacity of RHEST and its partner organizations in achieving this.
Through this program, RHEST aims to build the capacity of 125 RHEST Alums (girls who have received RHEST's support and completed SEE) and local school teachers to develop them as Mental health first aider. After the training, the participants are expected to raise awareness as well as advocate about the importance of mental health in their communities.
2. Objectives of the assignment
The objective of this assignment is to design and conduct Mental Health First Aid Training for 125 RHEST Alums and local school teachers in 4 Clusters for three year period, beginning from the current FY. The training is expected to enable the participants to-
- raise awareness and advocate about mental health awareness in their communities,
- support adolescents in managing their mental health and prepare them to respond effectively to the urgent needs of distressed individuals.
- identify cases from communities, provide initial counselling and refer to concerned for further action.
3. Scope of the assignment:
The consultant/consulting firm is expected to carry out following activities:
- Design and conduct Three-day Mental Health First Aid training to 125 RHEST Alums in 4 Clusters in first year (current FY) i.e, Four Trainings in total.
- Design and conduct one and half day Refresher Training in the second and third year of the to same participants in four Clusters i.e, Four Trainings in total/ each year.
4. Key Deliverables
Design and Conduct Twelve Trainings in total in the period of three years (Four Training each year) as specified in Clause 3,
Submission of brief report of each trainingafter completion of each training and compiled report after the completion of all the scheduled training each year.

6. Time Frame
The training covers a period from October 2023 to November 2026. The assignment will begin in October and end in November 2026.
8. Required qualifications
- The team of applicants should have a Master’s Degree in relevant discipline
- Proven track record in designing and delivering training sessions, with a focus on youth and adolescents with at least 5 years of professional experience in the psychosocial and counseling field, dealing with the mental health issues of adolescents, children, and women in peri urban and rural part of Nepal.
- Understanding of gender-based violence, various forms of abuse, and harmful socio-cultural practices and trauma healing to address the difficulties faced by these age groups with Zero tolerance, leave no one behind and Human rights perspective.

Proposal should include
- Letter of interest indicating consultancy fee.
- Concept note and budget in Nepal Rupees (NPR) to accomplish the tasks as specified in the ToR.
- (Organization profile in case of institutions) with relevant experiences in case of individuals.
- A copy of company/firm registration with renewal in case of institutions.
- A copy of latest Tax clearance certificate,
- VAT/PAN registration, Audit report in case of institutions
- Any other relevant documents.
