Vacancy Announcement for the position of Technical Officer (Agriculture) 

About DCU: Surkhet District Cooperative Union (DCU) Serves as an umbrella organizations for cooperatives operating at the district level in Surkhet. It,s  main duty involves aiding and supervising cooperatives within it,s area of influence which exhibits strong organizational capabilities. DCU offers assistance to cooperative that mainly deliver financial and advisory services to marginalized communities, including the impoverished disadvantaged Groups and rural women involved in cooperative Activities. DCU Surkhet is located in Birendranager ,6 Surkhet . 

About the Project: The district Cooperative Union Surkhet has joined hands with GIZ to implement some activities under the Green Resilient Agriculture Productive Ecosystem (GRAPE) project. The project aims to strengthen sustainable agriculture ecosystem in Sudurpashimin and Karnali provinces of Nepal. As part of our commitment to achieving these objectives in Surkhet district, we are seeking a qualified and experienced  individual to join our team as a Technical officer (Agriculture) 

Position: Technical Officer (Agriculture)

Project: Climate Resilient Agriculture  Practices Implementations in Cluster Two of (GRAPE)

Location: Surkhet district (focused on Cooperative Members ) 

Positions Requirements: 

• Main Academic Qualification:  B.Sc.Agriculture and higher education Will be preferred. 
• Minimum 3 years of relevent experience in the agriculture sector. 
• Strong understanding of project management sustainable agricultural Practices. 
• Experience in implementing climate Resilient Agriculture (CRA) measures such as soil–cement pound establishment vermin compost production cattle shed imrprovement, plastic tunal establishment etc. 
• Excellent communications reporting and interpersonal skill both in English and Nepali language. 
• Ability to coordinate and collaborate with various stakeholders. 
• Familiarity with the socio-economic context of surkhet district is most advantageous. 
• Local candidates will be highly prioritized.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership in implementing CRA measure under the GRAPE Project. 
• collaborate with local farmers extension services, local goverment and other stakeholder to promote CRA measures. 
• monitor and evaluate the impact of the interventions.
• prepare and submit timely reports on project activities . 
• support conduct training sessions and workshops for local farmers as outlined in the work plan 
• Conduct learning and sharing meeting with the multistakeholders. 
• Prepare workshop training report, monthly, trimonthly, annual report. 

Salary and Benefits: Remuneration and other benefits will be in accordance with the norms of the project and the district cooperative Union Surkhet
