For the support of rural women's organizations
Tewa, the Nepali's women's fund invites applications from qualified, visionary and committed Nepali citizen (women) for the position of Deputy Director, who shall actively participate in documenting and communicating Tewa's programmes, progress and works to all stakeholders. The Deputy Director works closely with other Programme Managers and Officers.
This position is based in Lalitpur and will require occasional field visits.
The key tasks of this position include:
- Support Tewa staff and Grant Making Unit to professionally manage the grant disbursement ensuring they are distributed on time to the most appropriate groups, focusing on women’s groups in underserved areas
- Support Tewa staff and the Volunteer Development Program to develop innovative programs for engaging volunteers and enhancing their capacity to contribute productively to Women’s development
- Support ED to develop proposals for building evidence and developing advocacy tools for modern philanthropy for women’s empowerment also support ED to prepare donor reporting & SWC proposal
- Identify measures for information dissemination regarding philanthropy and women’s empowerment for informed decision making by national state and non-state actors
- Develop creative and innovative ways of using Tewa’s facilities so as to financially support its operational costs
- Develop institutional arrangements which enable Tewa’s existing staff to contribute and learn from ongoing research projects
- Inspire Tewa to work with energy and dynamism to strengthen the modern philanthropy and women’s movement in Nepal
- With the ED, Board, members and staff, agree on strategy, policies and budgets; ensure adequate resources and management to enable achievement of the objectives of Tewa
- Provide oversight and guidance to staff to manage Tewa effectively and efficiently
- Strengthen existing management systems and ensure they are institutionalized
- Review, establish and implement accountability mechanisms for the staff and the organization
- Ensure Tewa's different units are properly monitored and necessary information documented for reporting and decision making
- Ensure fiscal management and discipline of Tewa
- Regularly communicate and performance with the ED and ensure timely reporting to ED and Executive Board
- Support Tewa staff and other stakeholders to create cohesive environment between the Executive Board, general members and staff of different levels
- Identify and manage risks in order to prevent management and program failures.
Minimum required qualification:
- Masters' degree with minimum five years work experiences in related field
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken Nepali and English
- Must be proficient in computer applications, viz. MS Office package, graphics designs and online information systems
Remuneration and benefits will commensurate with the rules of Tewa.
