Group of Helping Hands (SAHAS) Nepal is a non-governmental development organization established in 1996 and working on sustainable agriculture and food security, Disaster risk reduction and climate change, education, and social mobilization and movement. The organisation focuses to work with vulnerable families and communities, and smallholder farmers to improve their livelihood.

"Improving Food Security and Nutrition of Small Holder Farmers through an Agro-ecology Approach Project": A 3 year's project is implementing in Barekot Rural Municipality/Jajarkot and Raskot Municipality/Kalikot districts of Nepal. The main goal of the project is to improve the food security and nutrition situation of the vulnerable families and smallholder farmers from the project districts.

SAHAS Nepal is looking for youth, energetic candidates work in rural areas with Dalit, women and smallholder farmers for the following positions in this project.

1. Post: Technical Officer

Duty station: Kalikot and jajarkot

Required number: 1

Academic qualification/experiences:

  • At least 5 years’ experience of Intermediate and 2 years for Bachelor in agriculture
  • Experience of minimum of 2 years for social, food security and nutrition, organic farming
  • Excellent knowledge in statistical tools, data analysis and report writing skill
  • Leadership, effective communication and time management
  • Strong coordination with Municipalities and Rural Municipalities and efficient team player
  • Report writing skills with computer knowledge

Major responsibilities:

  • Proper planning Yearly, Quarterly and Monthly of the project activities based on the need assessment of target groups
  • Implementation of the planned agriculture based activities in line with project budget and time frame and analysis of target vs achievement and burn rate.
  • Design and organize trainings and workshops for technical capacity building of Farmers group and other stakeholders on agriculture, livestock, institution development
  • Provide technical backstopping and supervision to the field staff in project related activities
  • Follow up, monitoring and report writing of project progress in relation to activities, outputs, outcomes and impact (based on log frame/Outcome Impact Orientation)
  • Represent rural municipalities, district level agencies for coordination and cooperation and access resources.
