Handicap International Federation (HI) is an independent and impartial aid organization, created in 1982, working across 63 countries. HI works alongside the vulnerable populations, whatever the context, taking action to respond to their essential needs, improve their living conditions and promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights. Present in Nepal since 2000, HI works through a network of local partner organizations in the area of health and physical rehabilitation, inclusive education and resilience including emergency response to improve the living conditions and involvement of the most vulnerable populations in Nepal.

HI Nepal invites applications for the following position:

1. Supply Chain Officer– 1 position

Terms & Conditions: 1 Year contract with possibility of extension

Location: Country Office, Kathmandu, Nepal

Key Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Regional Logistics Manager and in accordance with HI’s policies, procedures and practices, the Supply Chain Officer is responsible for performing the following duties:

  • Plan and manage the coordination and implementation of Supply Chain activities to ensure timely, cost effective service and safe delivery of goods to the end users, in accordance with HI’s Logistics standard policy.
  • Ensure to carry out annual supply plan for support services and projects
  • Purchase of goods and intellectual services;
  • Assist in coordination of storage and warehouse management;
  • Arrange transportation of equipment & materials to the designated location, including loading and uploading and ensure issuance of proper documentation, i.e. delivery notes, packing list, insurance, etc.
  • Ensure quality in documentation/archiving (soft & hard) and reporting process of the Logistics;
  • Keep supervisor informed of the work progress and any risks or issues;
  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned.

Qualification and Skills Required: 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field with minimum 3 years working experience, preferable in INGO, in Supply Chain Management
  • Experience in working with logistic and supply chain management systems would be an asset.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skill
  • Proven skills of effective and efficient Task management 
  • Ability to supervise and perform under minimum supervision 
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication in both English and Nepali languages
