Dalit Help Society (DHS) was founded by a group of energetic and proactive Dalit youths from former Lekgaun VDC ward no.7 on B.S. 2063/9/16. Initially focused on social interventions such as cultural programs, sanitation activities, and Dalit community welfare, particularly in ward no. 7, the organization lacked a clear vision in social development due to them in experience. Starting in a small room in Lekgaun VDC, they gradually expanded their scope after partnering with organizations like UMN. Now, DHS has evolved into a reputable organization managing six projects on various issues like peace-building, Climate Change, Mental Health, Livelihood, Nutrition and food security, guided by a clear vision, mission, goal, and objectives outlined in its VMGO. In addition to UMN, WVIN DHS collaborates with partners such as UN WOMEN, DEO, MSFP, DDC/LGCDP, and RVWRMP. With well-established offices in the district headquarters and Chhabispathivera Rural Municipality-6 Lekgoun, Bajhang, DHS continues to make significant contributions to its community. DHS has been implementing the "Climate Change Impacts Mitigation and Adaptation for Environment Sustainability" (CLIMATES) Project in 4,5,6 wards of Bungal municipalities Bajhang district with financial and technical support from United Mission to Nepal intends to recruit qualified and experienced Nepalese citizens for the following positions:

Position: Sub-Engineer- 1

Working Station: Bungal Municipality ward no 4,5,6 Bajhang District.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Diploma in Civil Engineering
• At least 3 years of experience in the Building/ Civil construction sector and out of this 3-year experience in the Civil construction sector.
• Good knowledge in documentation, report writing, and presentation
• Good Knowledge of Climate-smart structure supervision of the construction
• Tactfulness and excellent interpersonal skills
• Having a good idea of Auto CAD, GPS, Smart Phone, Microsoft Office package, Excel and Power Point other relevant Estimate & Measurement & designing.
• Good communication skills in Nepali.
• Ability and willingness to work in team and to work under pressure and in remote areas
• demonstrated ability to:
  • communicate effectively with schools' representative, local project staff, municipalities, local communities, and government counterparts to work efficiently towards project objectives and targets.
  • work as an interdisciplinary team player to implement place-based activities and promote goals and objectives of the project.
  • Work closely with colleagues in a team spirit, work in a difficult situation in the community and school areas.
  • Commitment to values: integrity, responsibility, excellence, and global citizenship;

Responsibilities

• Support in conducting survey, design and estimation of Climates -smart infrastructure needs of the selected ward no Bunagal municipalities of Bajhang district
• Coordinate and consultation with the project UMN for drafting and finalizing DPR for improvement of Climates smart facilities at selected wards.
• Work with project engineer for formulating detailed project Climates infrastructure development plan, implementation schedule and monitoring and supervision actions.
• In consultation and coordination with the project coordinator, executive director and Project Manager and prepare project risk analysis, stakeholders’ analysis and communication plan as per the project requirement. 
• Consultation and coordination with engineering technical persons of municipalities, service providers for finalization and implementation of the Climates infrastructure activities at targeted community.
• Monitor and supervision of Climates smart infrastructure execution plan and ensure for quality and timely execution of the infrastructure development activities in the targeted community.
• Establish proper coordination with Municipality Coordination Committee at community and local level and adoption guidelines, norms and standards for Climates facilities improvement at targeted community.
• Monitoring and documentation of the progress of project activities through frequent field visits, report performance on monthly basis
• Coordinate, consult and support the project engineer, logistic & procurement officer and finance officer for transparent and cost-effective procurement process and proper storage of construction materials
• Support for documentation of project lessons, challenges and case studies and sharing with the project coordinator and Project Manager.
• Work with the Project Coordinator, Manager for ensuring all project reporting requirement (monthly, quarterly, yearly project progress reports) and timely submission to climates and relevant stakeholders.
• Support/Supervise the mason/labor involved in the construction activities as when required and also periodic supervision support to execute the construction activities setting up of milestone for the construction.
• Ensure that the record and proper documentation of the resources (Material and Money) has been done by Admin/Finance.
• Facilitate of Public Hearing and Public Audit of the construction activities in the community.
• Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding, Child Protection policies Climate Change and Environment Policy and procedures of the organization.
