Association for Social Transformation and Humanitarians Assistance (ASTHA Nepal), was established on 1996 with the objective to contribute to the socioeconomic transformation of the country for the upliftment of living standard of rural people by enhancing their awareness on socio-economic, cultural and environmental issues through various development programs related to awareness raising, entrepreneurship development, community infrastructure development, environment protection, skill development and sustainable development of natural systems. The rationale behind the inception of ASTHA is the realization that the problems of poverty and rural backwardness cannot be addressed through efforts of the government alone and complementary programs and initiatives should come from the non-governmental sector as well. We are pleased to invite applications from young, energetic, and highly motivated individuals for potential upcoming projects in Achham and Purposed districts of Sudurpashchim Province. The positions will be roster-based and filled as project opportunities arise.

1. Team Leader (1 Position)

Duty Station: District HQ (with frequent field visits)

Reports To: Executive Director

Duration: One year (with possibility of extension)

Level: Mid to Senior-Level Management

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the overall planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of WRM programme activities at the district and community levels.
  • Ensure project activities align with Donor and Government of Nepal guidelines and standards.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders including local/provincial governments, WUSCs, and community groups.
  • Supervise field-level staff and provide necessary support to ensure quality delivery.
  • Prepare narrative and financial progress reports in coordination with the finance and admin team.
  • Ensure adherence to cross-cutting themes such as Gender Equality, Social Inclusion, and child protection.
  • Represent ASTHA Nepal in meetings, workshops, and reviews related to WRM.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Environment Science, Civil Engineering, Rural Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 35 years of proven experience in project coordination/management in the WASH, IWRM, or community development sector.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Knowledge of government systems and local governance.

2. Training and Learning Coordinator (1 Position)

Duty Station: District HQ (with travel to municipalities and communities)

Reports To: Team Leader

Duration: One year (renewable based on performance and project need)

Level: Technical/Training Officer Level

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead training and capacity-building initiatives for WUSCs, municipal officials, and community groups.
  • Assess capacity gaps and develop training plans aligned with WRM and WASH standards.
  • Facilitate and organize workshops, orientation programs, and institutional development sessions.
  • Prepare training materials, manuals, and documentation in coordination with WRM Programme.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of capacity-building efforts.
  • Maintain documentation of capacity-building activities and submit timely reports.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Education, Social Work, Rural Development, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in training, facilitation, and capacity-building roles, preferably in IWRM/WASH projects.
  • Good facilitation and communication skills in both Nepali and local language.
  • Familiarity with GESI, child protection, and safeguarding principles.

(Female candidate will be preferred)

3. Water Resource Technical Coordinator (1 Position)

Duty Station: District HQ or field base (with frequent field travel)

Reports To: Team Leader

Duration: One year (renewable)

Level: Technical Expert

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical oversight and quality assurance for water supply, sanitation, and small infrastructure works.
  • Coordinate design, estimation, and implementation of drinking water and sanitation schemes in line with WRM standards.
  • Support Water Users and Sanitation Committees (WUSCs) in technical planning and execution.
  • Monitor construction quality, ensure environmental and safety standards are met, and provide on-site guidance.
  • Coordinate with WRM technical team for review and approval of engineering designs.
  • Maintain technical documentation, including design files, progress reports, and construction logs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Water Resources Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of field experience in drinking water and sanitation infrastructure projects.
  • Strong technical skills in engineering design, BOQ preparation, and construction supervision.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project/Excel, and engineering norms and standards.
