Maiti Nepal, like any other Non-Government Organization (NGO) in Nepal, operates through a general agreement with Social Welfare Council, Government of Nepal that allows it to implement programs to prevent human trafficking by reaching out to the community, particularly children and women, by raising the awareness level of communities and extending life skills so that children and women are not trafficked into different forms of abuse including exploitation.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Studies Teacher for primary level to join our academic team. The ideal candidate should be committed to student-centered teaching approaches and fostering both national pride and global awareness.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and interactive Social Studies lessons as per the national curriculum and child-centered approach.
- Make Samajik Adhyayan interesting and relevant by connecting to students’ daily lives.
- Promote globalization and the integration of national and international cultures, customs, and celebrations to develop students’ understanding of international harmony and global citizenship.
- Use a variety of teaching methods such as storytelling, role-play, project work, field visits, charts, and audio-visual aids to develop students’ understanding and interest.
- Develop lesson plans with clear learning objectives.
- Assess students’ learning through formative and summative assessments and maintain proper records of their progress.
- Promote values of patriotism, cultural respect, social harmony, environmental awareness, good citizenship, and international understanding among students.
- Organize simple activities such as class projects, Nepal-related celebrations, and international cultural awareness programs to encourage international harmony, promote understanding of global cultures and celebrations.
- Identify slow learners and provide them with additional support and remedial classes.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment in line with the school’s Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy and adhere to the organization’s Code of Conduct at all times.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers, attend staff meetings, and participate in school events and professional development programs.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding students’ progress and behavior.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Studies, or related field (B.Ed. preferred).
- Minimum 2-3 years of teaching experience at the primary level.
- Sound knowledge of the national curriculum for Social Studies (Samajik Adhyayan).
- Ability to teach in both English and Nepali medium.
- Strong communication, classroom management, and child-friendly teaching skills.
- Passion for working with young children and commitment to child rights, safeguarding, and the school’s Code of Conduct.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in project-based and activity-based learning.
- Creative and energetic teaching style with the ability to incorporate global perspectives.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with audio-visual teaching tools.
