Prerana, established in 1998, is a national non-governmental organization committed to promoting and protecting the rights of women, persons with disabilities, the poor, and other marginalized communities. The organization currently operates across Madhesh, Bagmati, Lumbini, and Karnali Provinces of Nepal, working closely with national and international NGOs, as well as with local, provincial, and federal government bodies and other key stakeholders.

Prerana is implementing the RAIN Project (Resilience, Adaptation, and Inclusion in Nepal) in partnership with People in Need (PIN), with funding from the British Embassy through the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). The project aims to enhance community resilience and strengthen national systems in early warning (EW), early action (EA), and climate adaptation. As the thematic lead on inclusion, Prerana is responsible for ensuring that communication and outreach are inclusive and accessible to persons with disabilities, women, elderly individuals, and other often-excluded groups.

We are now inviting applications from qualified and motivated candidates for the following consultancy services:

1) Sign Language Interpreter – Consultancy Service (Position-1) 

Location: Kathmandu (with frequent field visits to project provinces)  

Duration: October 2025 – February 2026

• Key Responsibilities:
• Review and provide feedback on communication materials.
• Deliver sign language interpretation in videos.
• Support with video captioning.
• Contribute to inclusive content development.
• Conduct accessibility checks of risk communication.
• Facilitate capacity-building sessions for project staff.

2) Mobility Trainer – Consultancy Service (Position-1)

Location: Madhesh Province (with frequent field visits to project municipalities)

Duration: December 2025 – January 2026 (30 working days)

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored training sessions to persons with visual impairments.
• Conduct mobility and orientation training.
• Provide hands-on training in the use of assistive tools (e.g., white canes, orientation strategies).
• Review and advise on inclusive materials.
• Conduct awareness sessions for project staff, partners, and stakeholders to promote inclusive practices for persons with visual disabilities.
