Senior Technical Advisor for Employment and Enterprise

Alliance for Social Mobilization Pvt. Ltd. (Alliance Nepal) has been providing development facilitation support to multi/bi-lateral and national organizations on policy, strategy and programs in Nepal and abroad since 1997. Alliance Nepal’s strengths are in the areas of project implementation and capacity building of the professionals and institutions. Its niche also lies in providing Vocational Training and linking the youths with Employment, development of training package and managing complete training cycle among the others.

Alliance Nepal is one of the partners to implement five-year Food for Peace/Community Resilience Program (SABAL) being funded by USAID . Mandates include providing vocational training and linking them with wage/self-employment plus financial literacy/carrier counseling to approximately 13,700 beneficiaries in six districts. Alliance Nepal invites application from qualified Nepali nationals for the position below:

Position: Senior Technical Advisor for Employment and Enterprise (STAEE) -1 position

Duty Station: Kathmandu in SABAL Project Office with intermittent field visits

Major Responsibilities:

• Be responsible, accountable and professionally correct in providing leadership, strategies and guidance to manage the Vocational Training and linking them with Wage/Self-Employment plus Financial Literacy and Carrier Counseling. It means overall responsibility for planning, organizing, supervising, controlling and periodical reporting.

• Supervise and guide four district level coordinators who cover six districts and produce quantitative and qualitative results.

• Use readily available and/or develop appropriate training curricula to match with the findings from need assessment. Coordinate with NSTB and MEDEP/MEDPA, as need be.

• Assess institutional and professional competence of possible service providers (for single or clusters of districts), employ, provide full orientation and support them to implement programs.

• Represent Alliance Nepal in the matters pertaining to inter/intra agency coordination for all matters including the themes such as GESI, Climate Change/DRR and be vigilant and innovative.

Qualification:

• Master's degree in social science, management, development studies or related discipline.

• Ten years of experience in coordination and management of socio-economic or livelihood projects involving multi-partners

• At least seven years of experience working in Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Enterprise Development components.

• Fluent in English and Nepali and good knowledge of computer, office equipment and tools.

• Proven qualities for integrity, accountability and result-based management.
