Project/Consultancy Title:  Network Infrastructure setup

Project Location(s): Mercy Corps, Kathmandu Office

Background:

A structured cabling system is a complete system of cabling and associated hardware, which provides a comprehensive IT infrastructure. This infrastructure serves a wide range of uses, such as to provide internal networking service or transmit data through a computer network. Computer Network is the hardware and software resources of an entire network that enable network connectivity, communication, operations, and management of an enterprise network devices. It provides the communication path and services between users, processes, applications, services, and external networks/the internet.

Purpose / Project Description:

• To Setup Internal   Networking System for clients and IT equipment’s like firewall, Laptops, Printers  
• To communicate system within local network that will support wireless printing, File sharing system, Data server backup etc.

Consultant Objectives:

The objective of this consultancy service is to setup the network (Structure Cabling System) in Mercy Corps building as defined in consultant activities.

Consultant Activities:

• Purchase and Installation of 30 Network Port (1 in each room and additional as required) in the building acquiring accessories as required
• Purchase and Installation of Server Cabinet of Size (600mm*600mm*1800mm) or equivalent
• Purchase and installing one 48 Port Gigabit Unmanaged Switch with Patch Panels inside Server Cabinet.
• Purchase and Installation 3 KVA online UPS Backup System with remote monitoring features for servers and backup up power to 6 hours with approx. of 1000-watt power consumption
• Network Cabling (Cat6) Should be Professional well managed and clean installation.
• Test and Verify Network Connectivity.
• Acquire required tentative material.

Consultant Deliverables:

The Consultant will Purchase and Setup and deliver robust Structure Cabling and Networking System and installing Server Equipment’s

Timeframe / Schedule: 

• 10 – 15 days

The Consultant will report to: 

• IT Systems Administrator

The Consultant will work closely with:

• IT Systems Administrator

Required Experience & Skills:

• Prior minimum 5 years’ Experience in Structure Network Cabling / Installation. 
• Previous Network Cabling/ Server room Structure sample or photos required to be attached with proposal.
