REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FROM TRAINING FIRMS: TRAINING PROGRAM FOR MECHANICS ON REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE OF ELECTRIC MINI AND MICROBUSES, NEPAL

The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is inviting eligible firms/entities to submit their proposals for the following scope of work under the Sustainable Electric Transport for Nepal (SET4NPL) project:

BACKGROUND

The Sustainable Electric Transport for Nepal (SET4NPL) project is supported by Mitigation Action Facility and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and GGGI. The project's goal is to sustainably transform Nepal’s public transportation sector and create significant environmental, health, and mobility benefits. The project aims to support roll out of approximately 3,500 Electric Mini and micro-buses (EMBs) and charging stations nationally over five years, contributing significantly to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and to enhance the technical capacity of the transport sector to ensure the sustainability of the EMB transition. 

In that regard, the project seeks a training firm to conduct capacity-building activities focused on the repair and maintenance of EMBs. The objectives of the assignment are as follows:

  1. Develop training materials for building capacity of Diesel Mini- and Micro Bus (DMB) technicians to repair and maintain EMBs.
  2. Conduct training for DMB technicians to repair and maintain EMBs.

The firm shall conduct capacity-building activities to build skills of Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicle mechanics with a focus on DMB mechanics to repair and maintain EMBs. The training shall be in the form of skills-upgradation for DMB mechanics to increase their job opportunity in the EMB sector and shall achieve the following outputs:

  1. Training participants are well-versed in the fundamentals of electricity and the components and workings of EVs.
  2. Participants are knowledgeable about fault diagnosis steps and standard fault symbols in EMBs.
  3. Participants have complete clarity of the safety procedures and hazard response during EMB repair and maintenance.
  4. Participants are able to use key tools such as a multimeter and insulation meter.
  5. Participants are able to confidently work with the low voltage components of EMBs. 
  6. Eligible individuals have exposure to job opportunities.

IMPORTANT DATES

Application Deadline: 3 November 2025 12:45 P.M afternoon Nepali Time 

The deadline has been extended by one month to 3 November (previous deadline was 3 October). There will now be no further extensions. 

If any bidder has any request for clarification on the TOR or any part of the tender documents, GGGI will be happy to clarify if the request is received on or before 27 October 2025 12:45 P.M afternoon Nepali Time. The questions must be asked through the GGGI e-Green Procurement Portal (Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) e-Green Procurement Portal - Project Manage - Tender) and questions received through other mediums will not be entertained.
