Global Cooperation for Development (GCD)

Global cooperation for development (GCD) is a humanitarian non-governmental, non-profitable and an independent social welfare organization. It was established on September 2017 AD, with the objective to organize the program in education, health and social justice-related achievements. We will provide opportunity for woman, children, youth and marginalized people by reintegrating them into the main stream of the society through providing them income generating tanning and education supporting program. The key objectives of GCD are: (a) to provide relief to victims of natural disasters; (b) to assist in the alleviation of poverty through livelihood and skill development programs; (c)to promote and advocate for equal and quality education; and (d) to ensure proper nutrition.

1. DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION/REQUIREMENTS:

GCD seeks competent, committed and result-oriented candidate for the following position:

Job Title: Field supervisor

Job station: Lalitpur (requiring frequent travel to various project sites)

Job duration: 1 year with a possibility of extension

Number of openings: 1 (one)

Start date: At the earliest

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality roll out of the project activities  in an efficient manner within determined time frame of implementation plan
  • Develop field operation guideline in close consultation with project team and management
  • Coordinate, facilitate and field level management for Donor, Government and Management level visits
  • Track detail / project implementation plan, monthly activity plan and weekly operational plans.
  • Support to enhance capacity of the partners and other likeminded government stakeholders in coordination with project team
  • Support project in preparation of weekly, monthly and other periodic progress reports.
  • Able to organize and facilitate relevant training/ orientation of relevant sector.
  • Able to develop annual plan, execute, monitor and evaluate.
  • Willing to spend 80% time in field work and having willing to work with children.
  • Able to coordinate with local and district level government structures for effective implementation of planned activities.
  • Collection, compilation and production of case studies and success stories.

QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor in Social studies, Rural Development, or related subject with at least 1 year of experience in Social sector.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Nepali and English languages.
  • Willingness to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Willingness to travel to remote part of the project sites.
  • Having a driving license for a motorbike or scooter will be an advantage
  • Computer knowledge (word, excel, power point,) and strong in email internet.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Maintain coordination and communication with all offices of organization, partner organizations and stakeholders as per the direction of the director and project coordinators.
  • Document required information of project activities and update organizational information as required for reporting and publication.
  • Prepare project reports and organizational reports as required by project documents and guidance.
  • Develop and update reporting system/channels within the organization and across partner organizations.
  • Develop systematic archives (electronic or other) and update regularly ensuring that required documents are available as and when necessary.
  • Disseminate organizational and programmatic achievements by establishing institutional connection with media.
  • Regularly update organization's website and also develop electronic periodic bulletin and disseminate among stakeholders
  • Assist Programme Coordinator for effective monitoring, supervision and reporting on all project and organizational activities.
  • Maintain a functional coordination with program coordinators and project staffs ensuring effective and efficient implementation of the project
  • Provide necessary documentation supports in conducting partners meeting, organization representation, and review and reflection meetings 
  • Collection, compilation and production of case studies and success stories.
  • Participate in intensive monitoring visit along with project team.
  • Make regular field visit to collect and data verification 
  • Regular collection and review of progress report submitted by Field Supervisor.
  • Produce hard copy documents, progress report, data, case studies and other documents in consultation with Program Coordinator and Executive Director
  • Collect and compile reports including regular periodic report, tools and event completion report from project staffs and develop appropriate filing system.
  • Assist and support Field Supervisor/ Program Coordinator on preparing activities and event report

QUALIFICATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor in social studies, development studies, rural development, or related subject with more than 2 years of experience in Social sector. Preference will be given to Master Degree in social science or development studies with experience.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Nepali and English languages.
  • Willingness to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Willingness to travel to remote part of the project sites.
  • Having a driving license for a motorbike or scooter will be an advantage
  • Sound skills on MS Office Package (MS-Word, MS-Excel, Power Point)
