VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Institute of Human Rights Communication Nepal (IHRICON) is currently recruiting qualified and dynamic Nepalese citizen for “Civil Society: Mutual Accountability Promotion Program” funded by FHI 360. 

IHRICON is implementing Mutual Accountability: Local Initiatives Project with the funding support from FHI360Nepal to work in Bhaktapur and Lalitpur districts for four years from Feb 2017 to October 2021. The goal of the project is to strengthen the effective civil society and media engagement and oversight for the public services delivery and public resource use. In this context, IHRICON intends to recruit qualified staff for the following position: 

Position: Project Officers (2 positions) for Bhaktapur and Lalitpur district

The Project Officer is the senior position for the district, who will be responsible in overall planning, implementation and monitoring of the program activities at district and local level to improve governance, constructive government engagement and; oversight in public services delivery and resources use. He/She will also contribute in improving citizen engagement in the Government social accountability mechanisms and strategic partnership with media in public services delivery and resources uses. He/She will be responsible for developing and operationalizing monitoring and evaluation plan. PO will support in preparing district level progress report to meet reporting requirements for the project. 

Qualifications

The candidate should have at least Bachelor degree in Social Science or relevant field with minimum of two years of experience in project management, government linkage building, capacity building, social accountability and advocacy. Experience and knowledge on mainstreaming of gender equality and social inclusion promotion, Human Rights and journalism will be added assets.

Priority given to:

• Working experience within the district
• Knowledge/experience of journalism 
• Having a driving license of two wheeler 
• For Bhaktapur: knowledge/experience of Changunarayan Municipality and Suryabinayak Municipality
• For Lalitpur: knowledge/experience of Knojyosom Rural Municipality and Godawari Municipality
