About Us:

Tarangini Mahila Adhikar Prashikshyen Kendra (Tarangini Foundation), established in 2017, is a feminist organisation dedicated to advancing gender justice through advocacy, documentation and movement-building. Our work is rooted in the belief that women's bodies, identity and work are central pillars of their agency and autonomy for realizing their rights, as well as for social transformation. We aim to make women's work visible, challenge structural inequalities, and strengthen the feminist movement in Nepal.

About the Role:

The Field Officer is responsible for supporting the effective implementation of program activities of Tarangini Foundation at the field level. The role assists in the planning, execution, monitoring, and documentation of program interventions to ensure the timely achievement of expected results and outcomes.

Under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator, the Field Officer will regularly conduct field visits, monitor ongoing activities, and provide technical and coordination support to community groups, including Women Human Rights Defenders (WHRDs), youth groups, and other stakeholders.

The role requires close coordination with municipal authorities, local governments, and other local NGOs to strengthen collaboration, ensure coherence, and create an enabling environment for advancing the organization's mission and program objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly plans and ensure effective implementation of field-level activities in alignment with organizational goals and approved work plans.
  • Work closely with Elected Women Representatives, communities, WHRDs, informal workers' networks, youth groups, municipal authorities and local governments. 
  • Represent Tarangini Foundation in local-level events, meetings, and programs, and build strong relationships with local NGOs and community groups.
  • Facilitate joint monitoring visits, track field-level progress, identify gaps, support corrective actions, and document key achievements and lessons learned.
  • Prepare and submit high-quality monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Ensure proper documentation of expenses, adherence to financial procedures, and compliance with organizational policies, promoting accountability, transparency, and safeguarding practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Development Studies, or any relevant field.
  • At least 1–2 years of relevant field-level experience, preferably in community-based or rights-based programs.
  • Strong understanding of gender justice, women’s rights, feminist approaches, and community mobilization.
  • Experience working with Women Human Rights Defenders (WHRDs), youth groups, women’s groups, or other community-based structures will be an asset.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with a strong commitment to feminist and rights-based approaches.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Morang, Sunsari, and Udayapur as required by the position.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
