Nepal Youth Foundation Nepal (NYF Nepal) is a non-profit organization working for the rights and welfare of the underprivileged children and youth of Nepal through educational, health and other humanitarian projects.

NYF Nepal is implementing Caste Equality Project (CEP) in Saptari district to empower the Dalit communities and facilitate the upliftment of the entire communities from the most pertinent challenges they face, viz: education, extreme poverty, caste discrimination, marginalization, and harmful practices such as early marriage and gender discrimination. For the successful implementation of this project NYF Nepal is seeking an experienced and self- motivated candidates for the following positions in the field office.

1. Project Officer Finance and Admin– Required no-1

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Manage the project’s financial and administrative activities and ensure good governance to meet organizational as well as regulatory compliance requirements. Ensure best utilization of resource and expenses with the aim to deliver required services effectively in the community/target group.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Keep track of program budget (as per program plan) and different expenses requirements.
  2. Follow and manage book keeping and standard accounting practices as per the reporting requirements.
  3. Ensure all expenses are duly recorded with proper verification and approval process.
  4. ensure proper cash management as needed to run day to day office operations.
  5. Keep track of payment/expenses and make timely payments of vendors, settlement of advance, liabilities and receivables etc. and reconcile periodically (monthly basis).
  6. Make salary disbursement, keep track of attendance and leaves.
  7. Prepare TDS statement, SSF statement and other periodic reports for approval.
  8. Follow the rules and norms while making payment for different expenses, along with maintaining good governance and also maintain confidentiality.
  9. Ensure the entire utility facilities/office equipment is running smoothly.
  10. Ensure that the Inventory and assets are recorded and updated, ensure that timely physical verification of fixed assets and inventory are done and reported.
  11. Make field visits as per the need of organization.
  12. Follow the norms made by the organization to fulfill its objectives.
  13. Work under the direct supervision of Project Coordinator and provide necessary support.
  14. Act as per the situation and help to formulate the work plan to fulfill the objectives of the organization.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree in finance/Accounting, Business or Business Administration.
  • Experience: Preferably with at least 2 years' experience in relevant field.
  • Knowledge: Community mobilization, working with marginalized and disadvantaged communities.
  • Skills, Abilities & behavior: Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, agreeable & adaptive to changes, learning aptitude, self-motivated & goal/task-oriented, careful handling of office equipment, organize and manage tasks; able to effectively work on computer (Windows-based applications); always exhibit and maintain professional ethics, should be sincere and honest at work, must not be biased and oppressive to any other caste, religion, politics, or any other principles.
  • Duty Station: Saptari (Province 2, Eastern Terai).
  • Language: Maithili, English and Nepali.
  • Others: Min Driving license for two wheeler (motorbike/scooter).
