Job Description

Position Overview

The Project Officer – Education is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of SDA’s education-related activities. The role works closely with supported schools, students, parents, communities, local government, and relevant education stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of education programmes. The position also supports education-related documentation, reporting, data collection, and administrative requirements, and provides regular updates and feedback to the Field Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities

1. Education Project Implementation

  • Coordinate logistics, scheduling, and planning for education-related events, trainings, meetings, and activities.
  • Support the implementation of education activities in coordination with supported schools and relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate the distribution of scholarship support materials to schools in accordance with approved project plans and guidelines.
  • Conduct regular school visits to monitor programme activities and interact with students, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Support the identification and continuous assessment of education programme needs, including ECD and student dropout, and provide relevant feedback for programme planning.
  • Support the overall management of education activities in the absence of the Field Coordinator.

2. School, Community and Stakeholder Coordination

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with supported schools, local government, education development and coordination units, and relevant line agencies.
  • Create awareness among communities regarding the aims and objectives of SDA’s education programmes.
  • Mobilize and coordinate local community resources in support of education activities.
  • Coordinate with NGOs, other organizations, and local government on education-related activities where required.
  • Facilitate regular interaction with parents, students, schools, and community stakeholders.

3. Student and Scholarship Support

  • Maintain student portfolios and relevant records from admission and throughout participation in the programme.
  • Monitor students and track student dropout in coordination with schools and relevant stakeholders.
  • Support field visits for the selection of new hostel girls and vocational scholarship candidates.
  • Support the collection of student-related information and follow up on education programme beneficiaries.
  • Collect case stories and relevant information from students and beneficiaries and share them with the Field Coordinator.

4. Monitoring, Reporting and Documentation

  • Collect, compile, and share data related to students, schools, and education projects.
  • Maintain daily stock records and other required documentation in the prescribed SDA formats.
  • Provide technical inputs and feedback for periodic project reports, including quarterly, annual, and final reports/evaluations.
  • Document education activities, field observations, beneficiary information, and relevant programme developments.
  • Regularly report on education activities, challenges, and needs to the Field Coordinator.

5. Administrative Responsibilities

  • Respond to general inquiries and direct specific inquiries to the appropriate person or department.
  • Maintain education-related databases, records, files, and other documentation.
  • Support documentation and clerical work related to education programme activities.
  • Assist with project-related bills, payments, and supporting documentation as required.
  • Support other administrative and organizational tasks related to education activities.

6. Other Duties

Carry out other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Field Coordinator in relation to the organization’s programmes and activities.
