Group of Helping Hands (SAHAS) Nepal is a non-governmental development organization established in 1996 and working on sustainable agriculture and food security, Disaster risk reduction and climate change, natural resource management, lobby and advocacy, civic quality education, infrastructure development, social mobilization and movement. The organisation focuses to work with vulnerable families and communities, and smallholder farmers to improve their livelihood. At present, the organization is implementing several projects in a total of 21 districts of Nepal.
Local Initiatives for Food Security Transformation Project (LIFT Phase V): A 3-years project is implementing in Okhaldhunga, Udayapur, Mugu, Kalikot, Bajura, Kailali and Achham districts of Nepal. The main goal of the project is to improve the food security and nutrition situation of the vulnerable families and smallholder farmers from the project districts.
SAHAS Nepal is seeking energetic, committed and creative candidates to work in rural areas with Dalit, women and smallholder farmers for the following position:
Position: Project Officer
Duty Station: Chhayanath Rara Municipality, Mugu district
Required number: 1
Academic qualification/experiences:
- Bachelor in agriculture/Bachelor in Social science
- Experience of minimum of 4 years for social, food security and nutrition
- At least 2 years’ experience of Bachelors and 1 year for Master in agriculture
- Excellent knowledge in statistical tools, data analysis and report writing skill
- Leadership, effective communication and time management
- Good coordination skills and efficient team player
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Nepali
Major responsibilities:
- Proper planning Yearly, Quarterly and Monthly of the project activities based on the need assessment of target groups
- implementation of the planned activities in line with project budget and time frame and analysis of target vs achievement and burn rate.
- Design and organize trainings and workshops for technical capacity building of Community Based Organisations (CBOs), Community Based Network Organisation (CBNO) partner and smallholder farmers
- Provide technical backstopping and supervision to the field staff in project related activities
- Assist to prepare proposal to CBNOs and report writing
- Follow up, monitoring and report writing of project progress in relation to activities, outputs, outcomes and impact (based on log frame/Outcome Impact Orientation)
- Represent rural municipality, district level agencies for coordination and cooperation and access resources.
