Helen Keller International (HKI)/Nepal, an International non-profit organization (INGO) that works to improve the sight and lives of the vulnerable by combatting the causes and consequences of blindness, poor health and malnutrition through public health approaches, building the capacity of organizations, and contributing to policy changes through systems strengthening and operations research. Nutrition is HKI/Nepal’s current largest portfolio. Assessment and Research on Child Feeding (ARCH)3 project, funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, to improve infant and young child feeding policies, guidelines, and practices through the generation of country-specific evidence and technical expertise. HKI/ARCH is currently seeking for an application from qualified, experienced and self- motivated Nepali citizen for the following Kathmandu based position: |
Summary of Job purpose: The position will be responsible to lead the ARCH 3 project and undertake research and focused consultations to generate data useful for policy and decision-making processes, communicate the information to stakeholders for promoting and protecting optimal breastfeeding practices according to the recommendations of WHO and UNICEF. Overall Responsibilities: Ensuring quality is a primary objective of HKI’s programming and monitoring and evaluation oversight is a requirement of all coordinators and managers and above to achieve the best outcomes possible. The position is responsible for ensuring HKI’s best practices are upheld, including adherence to the code of conduct, policies and procedures, financial accountability and making sure official matters are kept confidential. Educational qualifications and experiences Must have a minimum of master’s degree, preferably Ph.D. in an associated area with a minimum of 10 years’ professional work experience in similar organizations. |
