Project Coordinator-Officer (1)/ Field Supervisor (1) 

Tharu Women Upliftment Center (TWUC) 

TWUC is looking for competent candidates to fill in the position of Project Coordinator/Officer for the Early Childhood Development (Child DREAM) project funded by Plan International Nepal in Bardiya district of Nepal. 

Position: Project Coordinator/Officer (1 position)

Base: Will be based in TWUC, Bardiya office (Gulariya) with frequent field travel to Thakurbaba municipality, Rajapur municipality, Barabardiya Municipality and other area as per required.

Main Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support for Child DREAM project implementation, monitoring and evaluation, budget and program activities planning (with at least 40-60% travel in the field)
  • Work closely with local government representatives and other stakeholders for effective implementation of the Child DREAM Project
  • Work closely, Coach and support to community facilitators (ECD Team) to achieve program quality at target community
  • Monitor the progress of community facilitators/social mobilizers through field visits and on-site coaching
  • Take lead on ECD promotion with focus on behavior change approach and design and implement trainings, monitor conduction of parenting education and dialogue sessions.
  • Coordination with local government, networking and advocacy
  • Supervise and mobilize staffs effectively

Required Qualification, Experiences and Skills

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Social Science, Development Studies or relevant discipline with at one to two years’ experience in relevant area or Bachelor degree in similar discipline with 3-5 year experience
  • Good understanding of Behavior Change Communication (BCC), child nutrition, health, safety & security
  • Good knowledge of child and women’s rights and gender justice
  • Ability to analyze a situation, synthesize information and use the outputs to improve implementation and good coordination
  • Ability to work in diverse environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking and negotiation skills
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports in English (event reports, progress report, success story etc)
  • Well versed in English and Nepali languages and have good knowledge of computer skills with general software such as Microsoft Office, excel, power point.

Position: Field Supervisor (1) 

Base: Will be based in TWUC, Bardiya office (Gulariya) with frequent field travel to Thakurbaba municipality, Rajapur municipality, Barabardiya Municipality and other area as per required.

Main Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise the field level activities of project and provide onsite coaching to field level staffs for quality of project implementation (with at least 50-70% field visits)
  • Make necessary coordination and collaboration with key stakeholders at local level, ward level, HFs, different networks and groups
  • Organize/support to conduct Palika and ward level coordination meeting/workshop in close supervision of Project Coordinator
  • Collect necessary weekly, monthly and quarterly report from field level staffs and compile it and report to PC
  • Facilitate training sessions, collective dialogue sessions, on the job coaching to PE facilitator, Dialogue session facilitator.
  • Report any issues or challenges to Project coordinator, Finance officer and provide necessary guidance and regular support to field based staffs as well as government staffs as per necessary
  • Conduct weekly reflection meeting with respective field and responsible for overall field program management.

Required Qualification, Experiences and Skills

  • Bachelor degree in any discipline with 1 year of Experience  Or
  • General medicine (HA)/Staff nurse with at least 2 year of Experience. 
  • Intermediate pass with 3-4 years experience in development projects.
  • Experience of Working in Health, Nutrition or Early Childhood Development program will be given more preference.
  • Report writing in both English and Nepali, good communication and facilitation skill, team management, good cooperation relation building, basic computer skill (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and email internet)
