SCDC Nepal works closely with local governments, community schools, cooperatives, and Civil Society Organizations  to build a just, inclusive, and prosperous society through community-driven programs,.

The "Quality Education and Active Citizenship in Bardaghat" project is a structured 36-month initiative implemented by SCDC Nepal in close partnership with School Life in Nepal, Denmark (Skoleliv i Nepal). The project is based in the Bardaghat Municipality of Nawalparasi West district.
SCDC Nepal invites applications from qualified, competent and committed Nepali citizens for the following positions under the Quality Education and Active Citizenship in Bardaghat project.


1. Programme Officer-Teaching, Learning and Mentor Teacher System

Required number: 1

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Development Studies, Social Work or a related field. Master’s degree will be preferred.


Experience
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in teacher training, school-based education projects, classroom observation, learning assessment, mentoring or remedial education.
Required Competencies
•  Good understanding of child-centred learning, cooperative learning, classroom facilitation and critical thinking-based teaching.
•  Ability to coordinate mentor teacher systems and support teachers in classroom-level implementation.
• Experience in teacher training, school monitoring, classroom observation and feedback.
• Ability to support learning assessments, Literacy and Numeracy assessment activities and remedial learning follow-up.
• Strong facilitation, documentation and field reporting skills.
• Ability to work effectively with teachers, mentor teachers, principals and municipal education officials.
• Good computer skills, including MS Office ,google docs,forms and digital data collection tools.
• Good command of Nepali; English spoken and written  skill will be an advantage.
• Willingness to travel regularly to all project schools.
• Valid two-wheeler driving license and access to a motorbike/scooter for field travel will be required/preferred.


2. Programme Officer - School Governance, Child Clubs and Parent Engagement
Required number: 1


Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Development Studies, Social Work, Sociology, Child Rights, Rural Development or a related field. Master’s degree will be preferred.


Experience
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in community mobilization, school governance, child club facilitation, parent engagement, child rights, social accountability or local-level development programmes.
Required Competencies
•    Good understanding of School Management Committees, Parent Teacher Associations, Child Clubs and school-level participation structures.
•    Experience in working with children, parents, vulnerable families, teachers and local government representatives.
•    Ability to facilitate meetings, orientations, dialogue sessions, community discussions and school-level campaigns.
•    Knowledge of child rights, child protection, safeguarding, inclusion and active citizenship.
•    Ability to support Community Score Card, School Improvement Plan and parent engagement processes.
•    Strong interpersonal, facilitation, mediation, documentation skills and interest in learning new skills.

•    Ability to prepare case stories, field notes, meeting minutes and progress reports.
•    Fluency in Nepali and command of written and spoken English preferred.
•    Willingness to travel frequently to schools and  willingness to work weekends and evenings when required.
•    Valid two-wheeler driving license and access to a motorbike/scooter for field travel will be required/preferred.


3. Finance and Programme Support Officer
Required number: 1


Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Management, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.


Experience
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, administration, procurement or financial management, preferably in NGO/development projects.
Required Competencies
•    Good knowledge of project accounting, voucher preparation, ledger management and financial documentation.
•    Ability to work confidently with FAMAS accounting software; hands-on experience in FAMAS will be strongly preferred.
•    Good skills in budget tracking, expenditure monitoring and financial reporting.
•    Knowledge of NGO/development project finance procedures, audit preparation and donor compliance.
•    Ability to maintain bills, receipts, payment records, tax documents, inventory records and audit files properly.
•    Good understanding of procurement procedures, quotation collection, purchase documentation and asset management.
•    Strong skills in office administration, logistics management and event support.
•    Ability to support training, workshops, meetings, monitoring visits, social audits and public hearings.
•    Good documentation skills, including attendance sheets, meeting minutes, activity files and supporting documents.
•    Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, email and basic digital documentation tools.
•    High level of accuracy, honesty, confidentiality and attention to detail.
•    Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
•    Good coordination and communication skills with project staff, schools, municipality, vendors and stakeholders.
•    Willingness to support field-level programme activities when required.
•    Commitment to child protection, safeguarding, gender equality, social inclusion and organizational policies.
•    Valid two-wheeler driving license and access to a motorbike/scooter for field travel will be required/preferred.

4. Office Assistant
Required number: 1

Minimum Qualification
Minimum Grade 10 passed. Grade 12 passed candidates will be preferred.
Experience

Prior experience in office support, cleaning, meeting arrangement, hospitality or similar work will be preferred.
Required Competencies
•    Ability to maintain cleanliness of office rooms, meeting hall, kitchen/pantry area, toilet and office premises.
•    Ability to support meeting, training and workshop arrangements, including seating, drinking water, tea/snacks and basic logistics.
•    Ability to take care of office materials, furniture, cleaning supplies and basic office facilities.
•    Honest, disciplined, punctual, respectful and responsible.
•    Able to follow instructions and maintain office confidentiality.
•    Willing to support office work during meetings, training events or field-based activities when required.
•    Local candidates from Bardaghat Municipality or nearby areas will be preferred.
