International Alert invites application from interested and qualified candidates for the following positions:

Position: Senior Programme Officer- 1

Job Location: Kathmandu (40% field visits).

Role Overview

Responsible for management and implementation of project with delivery of high-quality outputs and processes; work with consortium partners providing strategic leadership and guidance on media security, justice and freedom of expression issues; coordinating for capacity building of partners and beneficiaries; ensure financial compliances and timely and accurate reporting of project activities.

Requirements 

  • Master’s degree in a relevant subject, such as mass communication, journalisms, social science, conflict and peacebuilding studies, law and other relevant subjects. Minimum 5 years working experience with proven track record in:
  • Successful design, management and implementation of projects;
  • Budgets planning, monitoring and budget compliance management;
  • Working with local partners in complex projects and environments;
  • Coordination and networking with a range of different stakeholders;
  • Design and implement capacity building of partners and beneficiaries;
  • Leading research and analyses resulting in high-quality research outputs and reports;
  • Knowledge on freedom of expression, media security and peace building theory and practice.
  • Fluency in Nepali and English.

Responsible for effective planning and implementation of project activities, including the delivery of high-quality outputs and processes; establishing effective coordination and collaboration with local partners and stakeholders; develop and update project M&E frameworks with data and analysis and ensure timely and accurate reporting of project activities.

Requirements 

  • Master’s degree in a relevant subject, such as peace and conflict studies, human rights, rural development, or social sciences.Minimum 3 years working experience with proven track record in:
  • Project planning and implementation;
  • Managing administrative and logistics requirement of activities;
  • Coordination and networking with a range of different stakeholders;
  • Working experience with local elected representatives, political parties and CSOs;
  • Updating monitoring and evaluation frameworks with data and analysis;
  • Knowledge and experience in Nepal’s peace and transitional justice process is desirable;
  • Fluency in Nepali and English.
