Position: Programme Officer

Location: Sudhdhodhan Gaunpalika, Kapilvastu District, Lumbini Province

Beneficiaries: Girls aged 4–17, Community stakeholders

Salary: NPR 20,000 – 25,000/month (based on experience and qualifications) + exciting additional benefits

Contract Type: 1-year fixed term (renewal based on performance)

About Atoot:

Atoot is a Sport for Development NGO that uses football sessions, educational classes, life skills workshops, and community engagement to educate and empower girls in rural Nepal (Kapilvastu District).

We work with girls aged 4–17 years who often face gender-based discrimination, child marriage, school dropout, and other systemic challenges. Through equal, fair, and fun opportunities, Atoot aims to nurture strong, independent young women who become leaders of their own lives and communities.

Atoot is seeking a dynamic and committed candidate to join our team as a Programme Officer. This position is based out of our office in Lumbini, and the area of work is Sudhdhodhan Gaunpalika, Kapilvastu District, Nepal.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Programme & Education:

  • Teach English, Mathematics, and Nepali to Atoot participants
  • Coach football sessions integrated with alternative learning methods
  • Design, update, and deliver educational and life skills curricula
  • Facilitate life skills workshops on topics such as menstruation, child marriage, gender equality, and personal development

B. Community Engagement:

  • Lead and support community engagement activities with parents, teachers, and local leaders
  • Act as a mentor and role model for programme participants
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and child-friendly learning environment

C. Reporting & Coordination:

  • Prepare monthly programme reports and support Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) activities
  • Conduct organisational monitoring, evaluation, and social audits
  • Coordinate and liaise with local government bodies and stakeholders
  • Support grant writing, documentation, and online data entry as required

Requirements:

  • Minimum +2 level or Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Social Work, Sociology, Education, Physical Education, or related fields). Master’s degree is desirable.
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, email, Google Drive, and online tools
  • Willingness to live and work in rural communities
  • Basic proficiency in Awadhi/Hindi
  • Solid report writing skills
  • Valid driver’s licence (scooter/motorbike) – (Please apply ASAP if not acquired)
  • Positive reference from previous employer/academic supervisor
  • Good organisational and record-keeping abilities
