Job Title: 1. Program Manager – DRR and Resilience

For our Nepal Office, CORUS subsidiary Lutheran World Relief (LWR) invites application for the position of Program Manager- DRR and Resilience.

About The Job- Program Manager- DRR and Resilience is based in LWR Nepal Country office Kathmandu and reports to Program Director. Program Manager will also receive technical guidance and support from the appropriate Technical Leader for his/her technical sector. The incumbent serves for better management DRR and Resilience projects. S/he will be responsible for overall management of the project which includes project designing, partner selection, project monitoring, internal and external reporting, stakeholder coordination, providing technical training to partner organizations, representation in different forums, enhancing visibility to external and internal audiences, organizing donor visits. Besides, s/he will also have opportunity to share experiences inside and outside the organization participating in different forums both in-country and outside the of country.

Major roles and responsibilities: 

  • Take lead for coordination and communication with implementing partners at the field.
  • Ensure the on timely project implementation and monitoring and provide feedbacks/inputs to the partners.
  • Provide necessary capacity building coaching, orientation, and training to partner staffs about Resilience, DRR, Multi-hazards Early Warning System, Market Led Resilient Livelihoods and youth and women entrepreneurship. 
  • Compile and prepare periodic reports; and ensure the timely submission of narrative and financial reporting.
  • Work closely with M&E Officer and Program director to ensure the timely implementation of thematic projects activities and expenses as per work plan, M&E plan and budget; collect all necessary data, case studies, photos and others as required from the field.
  • Work closely with partner, country teams; and ensure the LWR and donor’s all reporting requirements and guidance. 
  • Help and support to Program Director and Country Director for intelligence gathering about new project design. 
  • Support to Program Director on overall project and program management including admin and finance issues. Leads and supports other projects and programs too as instructed by the Program Director.

Qualification and Experience Requirement: 

  • Should have at least Master level study in social science or business study or agriculture or natural management or environment. 
  • At least five-year experiences with NGO/INGO sector in the field of DRR, Resilience, Climate Change, Agriculture/livelihoods, and youth and women entrepreneurship  
  • Strong skills on linkage, networking and communication with government and concerned stakeholders.
  • Strong report writing and communication skills in English.
  • Able to frequently travel Nepal field sites.
  • Previous experiences on flood resilience, early warning system, and dealing with emergency humanitarian assistances would be added value.
