Aawaaj is a non-governmental organization working for breaking the silence in Karnali province for 25 years. It has been working on gender equality and social inclusion especially to the prevention and response of gender based violence through empowering women and girls, and promoting positive social norms by the man engaging for gender social transformation and positive masculinity. Aawaaj has been working with women and children from socially excluded groups to increase opportunities, better access to resources, services, improving social equity and improving environments of existing systems at community and government level.
Details / requirements:
Aawaaj is a non-governmental and non-profit social organization established in1999 by the joint initiatives of professionals with strong hope to demonstrate capacity against gender and conflict based violence, abuse, exploitation, neglect and discrimination. It aimed to establish for the prevention and increasing opportunities, access resources and services for the violence affected children and women, and improving environments of existing system against violence of children and women in mid western region, Nepal.
1. Job Title: Program Documentation Officer
2. Location: Based in Kathmandu
3. Date: August 2009
4. Job Purpose:
The Documentation officer is responsible for taking a lead in designing project proposal, documentation and publication of Aawaaj 's experiences. The responsibility in terms of three major areas:
(i) Documentation of monthly report, learning, success stories, good practices of the projects, case studies and Publication;
(ii) Writing Project Proposal.
iii) The post holder will have to play key role for a cross fertilizing the learning and concerns/ dilemmas of the specific projects etc.
5. Person Specification:
* Have excellent skills on proposal writing, report writing, publication and dissemination skills
* Strong conceptual thinking, influential documentation, presentation and analytical skills.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills and enjoying to work independently.
* Ability to use MS, EXCEL applications and other programs in computer
* Excellent writing skills in English and Nepali
* Ability to work in deadline often in difficult situation,
* Bachelor Degree in Social work or related subjects with strong skills and experience in documentation.
