Position Title: Program Development Advisor (National Volunteer)

Place: Baluwatar, Kathmandu

Organization brief description:

CECI seeks to improve the social and economic well-being of the poorest, most disadvantaged people in communities in Africa, Asia and the Americas and volunteers are at the core of this work. Ensuring women and young women are empowered and fully play their role as agents of change for a sustainable, inclusive development is central to CECI's work. CECI volunteers work towards women and young women's economic empowerment and the climate change resilience of communities by sharing their skills and expertise and working hand in hand with local partners.

Partner: Multiple partners of CECI

Length of posting: 4 months

Principal responsibilities:

  • Support CECI partner organisations in developing their program/portfolio to increase Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) and resilience to climate changes;
  • Collaborate with the partner organizations in developing their strategic priorities/plans;
  • Map donors’ strategic areas of interest and priorities to anticipate calls for proposal that could be beneficial for the CECI partner organizations;
  • Monitor and research current trends and sectors to which need to be taken into account to develop competitive proposals to support the Economic Empowerment of Women and young women and resilience to climate change;
  • Support in developing and updating key representation material such as capacity statements, thematic approaches, results and briefing documents etc. 
  • In collaboration with the partner organizations, ensure regular communication and collaboration with international donor agencies to increase their visibility;
  • Develop the capacity of the CECI partner organizations in writing concept notes and proposals
  • Integrate gender equality in all activities with emphasis on the participation and representation of women and young women;
  • Integrate environmental issues and climate change adaptation in all activities;
  • Make sure to respect, at all times, the organisation's guides, manuals, guidelines or instructions related to security and safety;
  • Commit to collaborate to write an article, in an activity or in an event that raises awareness among the Canadian public;
  • Write the reports required by the partner organization and the CECI program.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related field (development studies, sociology, gender studies, human rights etc.).  
  • Minimum seven years’ experience in program development 
  • Prior experience in networking, communication etc.
  • Knowledge and experience of developing Monitoring and Evaluation tools, project budgeting and logical framework 
  • Adaptability, flexibility and excellent teamwork skills 
  • Be results-oriented.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Planning and organizational skills.

Working conditions:

The volunteer will be visiting the partner organizations on a regular basis.
