Aasaman Nepal (ASN), a pioneer organization for education and nutrition, is one of the leading Terai based NGOs led and managed by social activists since its establishment in Dhanusha, Janakpur in 1999. ASN has been engaged in developing and implementing programs aimed at protection, promotion, and fulfillment of child rights in Nepal. Currently ASN has been working in 20 districts under 6 Thematic Areas as: Education/Child Protection, Women Empowerment, Livelihood/ Natural Resource Management, Disaster Risk Reduction, Health/ Nutrition and Good Governance.

ASN is implementing the project, “Integrated Nutrition Programme” in Saptari and Siraha district of Madhesh Province, Nepal in partnership with WFP. The objective of the project is to deliver nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive solutions that will improve the health and nutrition of children. The Aasaman Nepal is looking for the self-motivated, result oriented and hard-working Nepali citizen for the following position for Saptari District: 

Position Title: Program Coordinator

Location: Saptari 

Objective/Purpose of the Position:

  • Project responsible person for agreed activities implementation as per the Filed Level Agreement, Coordination with district level government and WFP team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to overall project management and financial management of the program.
  • Project planning, team management and mobilization and Program implementation.
  • Prepare DIP, plan activities and budget as per the need of the program with the close coordination with WFP
  • Ensure the participatory planning and effective implementation of the project in close coordination with the project team.
  • Coordination with the different stakeholders like provincial health directorates, district health officials, municipalities, health posts, FCHVs and likeminded organizations for the effective implementation of the program.
  • Prepare narrative and quantitative report and disseminate it when required in proper format and standards.
  • Diverse team management to yield quality results within the stipulated time period,
  • Proactive in risk management and promote governance to contribute on strategic outcomes,
  • Guiding the team for the proper implementation of project output for intended Impact.
  • Fulfill other appropriate level responsibilities as defined by the Project.  

Advocacy, Networking and Social Accountability

  • Coordinate with Province, local government authorities, consultants, and other non-governmental organizations to create collaborative efforts through regular meetings, interactions, and initiating joint monitoring visits and social campaigns.
  • Ensure accountability towards government authorities by sharing project target, budget, progress as well as delivery approaches.
  • Represent the organization at different forums, platforms, networks, and consultants and ensure meaningful participation.
  • Proactively participate in project planning meetings and meetings with relevant stakeholders.

Monitoring, Reporting and Documentation:

  • Understand the project’s theory of change, log frame, monitoring framework etc. and share with Team.
  • Oversee the implementation of project activities in coordination with management functions (monitoring and evaluation, follow-up, supervision, publication, communication, and training).
  • Prepare and compile quarterly, semi-annual, and annual progress reports, study reports, monitoring reports, for submission to the partner agency.
  • Prepare details implement plan, training materials and manage the training/events of the program according to the schedule including the adaptation of guidelines and curriculum.
  • Verify and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual reports including validating programmatic and financial reports and ensure timely submission of agreed reports.
  • Coordinate periodic monitoring and joint monitoring visits as agreed.  
  • Work closely with finance person in the organization to prepare budget, any amendments, and forecasts as per project requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • MPH or equivalent with 3 years’ management experience in the health and nutrition of children.
  • Proven ability to manage risks and promote governance to contribute on strategic outcomes,
  • Experience working with children and their wellbeing in both development or emergency contexts,
  • Have a good technical knowledge and experience on Nutrition Specific and Nutrition Sensitive along with data and information management,
  • Proven project management and financial management experience,
  • Diverse team management to yield quality results within the stipulated time period,
  • Presentation skill to highlight on the areas of success and failures with qualitative and quantitative data and relevant information,
  • Two-wheeler driving license preferred.

Languages:  Strong command of Nepali, English, Maithili, Bhojpuri (oral and written) and local language preferred/required.

Age Limit: Candidates between 21 years to 55 years are only eligible to apply for the above position, depending upon the nature of job they will carry.
