International Nepal Fellowship (Nepal) is a Non-Government Organization established in 1952 and serves the poor and disadvantaged people of Nepal to enable life to its fullness through health and development services. INF Nepal is currently working in health and community development services in the Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim Provinces of Nepal.

About Palliative Care and Chronic Disease Services And SUNITA Project:

The Palliative Care and Chronic Disease (PCCD) service is offering clinical and community-based palliative care services. SUNITA, a three-year, UK Aid-matched project between EMMS International and INF Nepal (started on April, 2022) will be developing a Palliative Care and Chronic Disease (PCCD) Centre of Excellence at Green Pastures Hospital through clinical services, research, and education/training. This project will support the National Strategy for Palliative Care, which was developed by palliative care experts in Nepal and was adopted by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP). Over the period of three years, it will design, implement, and test a rural healthcare intervention in palliative care in Lamjung, Rukum, Surkhet, Kapilvastu, and Banke.   

Purpose of the Job:

The Palliative Care Clinical Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the implementation of the spectrum of Palliative Care services within GPH and providing consultative specialist PC nurse expertise in clinical settings.  Broader duties include: coordinating clinical team meetings; ensuring projects meet the set targets and maintaining clinical standards. S/he has a major role in training medical professionals and others within GPH, INF Nepal, and other organizations as agreed with GPH and INF Nepal leadership. S/he is responsible for coordinating the development of the strategic direction of Palliative Care services of GPH and within INF Nepal and for representing INF Nepal in Palliative Care development initiatives locally, provincially, and nationally.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in nursing or appropriate nursing certificates with registration at Nepal Nursing Council or post-certification qualification in palliative care with 5 years of work experience in a clinical setting or teaching context. Two years of Palliative care experience is an advantage.
  • Ability to lead and empower the team.
  • Good in facilitation skills and use of participatory tools and techniques to train others.
  • A genuine interest in helping people.
  • A positive and proactive approach to patient care.
  • Able to keep all matters pertaining to work confidential.
  • Fluency in oral and written English and Nepali language.
  • Good computer skills with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Be honest and demonstrate integrity.
  • In agreement with the vision, mission and values of INF.
