Its registration number at the District Administration Office is 23/053 and its affiliation number with Social Welfare Council (SWC) 5701/054 (1997). Its head office is in Martadi, the headquarters of Bajura District. The actual beneficiaries of the organization are rural community people of Bajura district. The main focus of the organization is in the area of community development including poverty alleviation, identification and settling of gender issues, health and sanitation, protection of local environment, forest conservation and management.

Generating Income to Foster Transformation (GIFT), Bajura is a non-government, non-profit organization, it is established on 1996 and delectated to support poor and marginalize communities on remote area in Nepal. For the last 20 years GIFT Bajura has been implementing Education and capacity development ,Technology transfer and knowledge management ,Agriculture and income generation, Economic empowerment ,Gender equity and mainstreaming  ,Infrastructure works ,Health, hygiene  and sanitation   Community/social mobilization  and Enterprises/ business development and market linkage sector in Bajura district .GIFT Bajura is currently looking NRM Officer for PAHAL program ( Supported by USAID/Mercy Corps Nepal), the detail is as below:

Title of Job: NRM Officer

Types of Service: Programme

Work Station: District Office, Martadi Bajura with frequent field visit to remote VDCs

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Natural Resource Management Officer (NRM Officer) will be responsible to support District Coordinator and Programme Coordinator for implementation of technical and social activities under NRM outcome delivering at field levels to contribute to achieve the outcomes of Promoting Agriculture, Health and Alternative Livelihoods (PAHAL) programme. S/he will be responsible for the following main tasks:

1. Delivery of Project Activities

  • Ensure that the planned activities under NRM outcome of PAHAL programme are being effectively implemented in the district as per the programme strategy 
  • Create an enabling environment at district for smooth and effective delivery of the programme
  • Support for output based planning, activity implementation and monitoring of the field level activities
  • Support to develop Detail Implementation Plan (DIP) and ensure that activities are smoothly delivered as planned
  • Abide by the principles of governance, multi stakeholder approach, disadvantaged group targeting, aid effectiveness and gender and social inclusion in programme cycle management
  • Support to District Coordinator/Programme Coordinator present district level thematic annual plan in DDC council
  • Ensure good coordination with DDC, VDC, DFO, DSCO and other forestry sector stakeholders in the district
  • Work with VDC, CFUGs, user's networks and other stakeholders at VDC level to form and/or strengthen multi stakeholder mechanism at VDC level
  • Coordinate with local government agencies, civil society organizations and LNGO partner as appropriate for effective delivery of the programme
  • Represent programme proactively in different forums such as meetings, sharing events, review workshops etc. as necessary
  • Ensure that activities are planned and implemented as per GESI strategies
  • Ensure synergetic effects by coordinating within PAHAL programme themes and other development agencies

2. Support to Fund Disbursement and Management

  • Support for the timely forecast of plan & budget and disbursement of fund to the field for programme implementation
  • Ensure the expenses made are realistic as per the approved and specified norms and has sufficient supporting documents

3. Managing Team

  • Coordinate the district team and their activities ensuring broad uniformity and close coordination in pursuit of the programme objectives
  • Support to develop and implement thematic staff capacity development plan based on needs of the programme and staffs 
  • Coordinate with District Coordinator/Programme Coordinator and other Programme Officers for effective implementation of planned activities and its monitoring systems at the district

4. Monitoring and Reporting

  • Monitor thematic activities funded at district level as per the programme schedule and need
  • Support to gather and analyze information to prepare  reports at district/regional level about progress, issues, challenges and learning of project outcomes/outputs in specified reporting periods
  • Support the monitoring and documentation of field level activities and share progress and learning in relevant forums as appropriate
  • Contribute to appraisals, annual review and mid-term reviews of PAHAL  programme as necessary and appropriate
  • Ensure public auditing is being implemented for each activities  implemented
  • Support to prepare progress and other reports as , necessary

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCES

  • Bachelor degree in Forestry/ Environmental Science/ Natural Resource Management with 2 years of related working experience.( Preferable in Community forestry )
  • A good understanding of contemporary issues.
  • Excellent report writing skills both in Nepali and English.
  • Fluent in Nepali and English languages.
