FAIRMED is a Swiss development organization dedicated to work with its motto “Health for the Poorest”. The organization plays an important role in providing health care access to the marginalized communities and individuals who are prone to diseases, disability, and poverty. The core focus of FAIRMED's work in Nepal is Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) – Leprosy, LF, Kalaazar, etc and Maternal and Neonatal Health (MNH), while it interweaves GESI and Disability Inclusive Development (DID) as cross cutting themes into its programs to strengthen the health system and increase the uptake of public health services.

Details / requirements:

FAIRMED in Nepal has been implementing a project “Biswas- Building Trust and Confidence to NTD affected and vulnerable population”, aiming to improve health and well-being of communities in three districts (Jhapa, Morang, and Sunsari) of Koshi Province. The project applies the approach of “leaving no one behind” and plans to strengthen integrated health service delivery and its utilization in the targeted districts. FAIRMED is looking for Monitoring, Evaluation and Knowledge Management Specialist to lead the monitoring, evaluation, and supervision of the Biswas Project.

 

Monitoring, Evaluation and Knowledge Management Specialist - 1 (based in Project Office, Biratnagar)

The position involves ensuring quality standards of project implementation as per national policies and guidelines. The incumbent will monitor field activities, ensure accurate data use, prepare progress reports, case stories, and other documentation for dissemination at various levels. This role focuses on ensuring timeliness, proper process, and accomplishment of project activities. The incumbent will also serve as the primary contact for quality improvement, monitoring, and knowledge management, including dissemination at various forums.

Required Competencies and Skills

  • Experience:  A master’s degree in public health, or demographic, economics, or other any other relevant social sciences with at least 5 years of experience in monitoring & evaluation related roles in (community-based health/ development programs in NGOs/INGOs.

  • Monitoring & Evaluation Expertise: Skilled in monitoring tools, data analysis, and report writing, with experience in health sector M&E, project monitoring, surveys, needs assessments, and research. Able to ensure timely execution and quality of activities.

  • Documentation & Evidence-Based Reporting: Proven ability to document project achievements and showcase successful practices/results at municipal, provincial, and national levels through evidence collection and dissemination.

  • Technical & Analytical Proficiency: Competent in GIS, Microsoft Office, SPSS, STATA, and online/mobile data collection tools like ODK, KOBO, Logalto. Capable of monitoring activity and budget expenditures and analyzing progress to identify and address gaps.

  • Communication, Critical Thinking, & Teamwork: Strong skills in report writing, interpersonal communication, critical thinking, and teamwork, with the ability to proactively translate insights into action and collaborate effectively in teams.
