Street Child of Nepal

Details / requirements:

About the Organization

Street Child is an international charity based in the United Kingdom that exists to ensure all children are safe, in school and learning- especially in low resource environments and emergencies.  Street Child is an organization with expertise in education, economic empowerment, and protection programming. Our interventions are integrated to confront challenges, assuring safety as we afford access to schooling. By coupling instantaneous change for children with an increase in the capacities of caregivers, communities, and schools we support children to be safe, in school and learning in the long term.

Street Child is operational in Nepal since 2016 and has been developing and executing programs aimed at enhancing learning outcomes of marginalized children. The goal is to provide educational support to children, particularly those who are marginalized and excluded, to help improve their learning outcomes and provide equal opportunities for their future.

Background

“Build the Basics” project is an integrated intervention of accelerated and adaptive learning to alleviate learning loss for 36,000+ children and to achieve continued, quality teaching through 1,800 teachers in 600 state schools in Nepal. The project will (i) develop and deliver learner-centric, scalable interventions to successfully improve children’s foundational learning outcomes; (ii) establish strong school systems that facilitate learning; and (iii) use evidence to influence policymakers and practitioners for improved education policies and programmes.
