Job Title: Manager- Partnership & Grant Management

Duty Station: Lalitpur, with 25% field travel in eastern and central Nepal. Preference will be given to candidates able to work effectively across US and Nepal time zones.

Reports To: Dual reporting to the Country Director and Director of Partnerships and Growth

Position Summary

The Manager- Partnership and Grant Management (MPGM) will lead and coordinate the integration of impact measurement practices into proposal development, grant agreement formulation, and donor reporting. Acting as a strategic liaison between the US and Nepal teams, the Manager will ensure that all funding activities and reporting align with organizational goals, donor requirements, and internal program priorities. This role involves close cross-functional collaboration with Relationship Managers, Finance Directors, and program teams to produce high-quality proposals, manage grants effectively, and maintain compliance with donor expectations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Proposal Development

  • Lead the development of high-quality funding proposals in collaboration with Relationship Managers to support the organization’s strategic plan.
  • Work closely with US and Nepal teams to develop, review, and finalize proposal components, ensuring alignment with annual program commitments and priorities.
  • Support and coordinate the proposal review process using a RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed) matrix to delineate responsibilities across teams.
  • Integrate SMART impact measurement indicators into proposals, ensuring clear and measurable outcomes from the outset.

2. Grant Agreement Development and Execution

  • Review donor agreements and contracts, flagging any potential concerns or risks to safeguard organizational and programmatic interests.
  • Collaborate with Finance Directors in both offices to ensure accurate tracking and management of restricted funds in compliance with donor requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Partnerships and Growth to facilitate donor agreement processes and negotiations.
  • Ensure timely execution and proper documentation of grant agreements, addressing all operational and compliance needs.

3. Donor Reporting and Compliance

  • Oversee the preparation, review, and submission of donor reports, ensuring that narrative content, financial data, and program monitoring information are accurate, consistent, and compliant with donor and organizational standards.
  • Liaise with the Nepal Country Office (NCO) to communicate and document any programmatic or financial changes impacting existing grants, such as delays or budget variances.
  • Monitor grant disbursements and expenditure schedules, working collaboratively with Relationship Managers and Finance Directors to support timely payments and budget adherence.
  • Participate in donor meetings, calls, and program visits alongside Relationship Managers, representing impact measurement and compliance perspectives as required.

4. Impact Measurement Integration

  • Embed impact measurement practices throughout proposal development, agreement management, and reporting to strengthen evidence-based program management and donor accountability.
  • Collaborate with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team to ensure data collection aligns with agreed impact metrics and supports accurate donor reporting.
  • Train and support program and finance staff to understand impact metrics and integrate them into their workflows.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Business Administration, Public Policy, Social Sciences, or a related field: Master’s degree preferred. 
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in proposal development, grant management, or impact. measurement, preferably within an international NGO or development agency. 6 + years for bachelor’s in relevant profession. 
  • Proven experience working with donor agreements, fund tracking, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of impact measurement frameworks, monitoring and evaluation principles, and the integration of data into fundraising and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-stakeholder coordination across geographically dispersed teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Nepali and English.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and grant management or CRM software platforms.
