We are opening a branch office in Kathmandu from September 2021 and would like to build a core team of developers.

Candidates must be Kathmandu based.

Role

As a Lead Full Stack Developer, you will be leading in the designing, documenting, building, maintaining, improving the customer and internal applications and liaising with dev ops team in UK. Your focus will be on the evolution, growth and support of our platforms and team based in Kathmandu, and you’ll be working mainly in HTML, Javascript, PHP and MySQL.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team in developing and maintaining applications in accordance with business needs

• Help leadership define and improve software development processes

• Work with the Technical Delivery Lead/Project Manager to create and deliver work schedules

• Build and deliver against integration plans to ensure multiple systems can interface in a seamless way for staff and customers

• Translating complex development requirements and information into language that can be easily understood across the entire business

• Manage and develop a productive and efficient development team

• Design, document, build, and maintain secure, efficient, reusable, and reliable code

• Helping maintain code quality, organisation, and automation

• Lead testing and code review activities

• Manage version control across our applications and databases

• Ensuring the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications

• Troubleshooting and providing ongoing support relating to application database matters that may be raised through the help desk

• Producing proof of concept applications and databases to support business development

• Act as a technical mentor and adviser

Skills and Experience 

• Experience of leading a technical team and delivering high quality code

• Strong communication skills that help the lead application developer translate the ideas of business leaders and end-users into technical requirement

• Coordinate the development staff’s schedule and ensure effective communication between team members and other functional areas

• Experience of web-related technologies (PHP, HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, JSON, Ajax etc.)

• Experience with web-based software design using Linux, LAMP, Nginx, Apache and MySQL

• Experience with cloud, automation, version control, CI/CD and testing tools (AWS, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Git, SonarQube)

• Ability to work in a team orientated, collaborative environment

• Working in an Agile manner including backlog prioritisation with business leaders and end-users

• Understanding of secure coding practises and knowledge of OWASP attack vectors
