Land Right Advocacy Officer/Market System Development Officer

Mahuli Community Development Center (MCDC) is one of a non-governmental organization working in Saptari district since 1994 It works for various social developmental activities coordinating with developing partners and government organization. MCDC Saptari is implementing the Habitat for Humanity International Nepal (HFHI) supported program titled “SURAKSHITAAWAS program” Safe shelter support Project for ultra-poor, vulnerable, marginalized, and landless families in partnership of government in province No. 2, in different component. We invite applications from interested and qualified Nepali citizens for the following position: The positions are located in Saptari district field office.

1. Land Right Advocacy Officer – 1 position

The position is based in Saptari district with frequent visit to the project locations in Saptari and Siraha district also. The position holder is responsible for overall management and Implementation of Land right advocacy activities and related component. She/he will lead the planning, implementation and monitoring of the project and its advocacy of land occupied by house or family and joint land ownership for beneficiaries, MFI members and PASSA group members in Saptari and Siraha district and ensure the overall achievement of project outcomes related to Land rights, joint land ownership, house construction and land right advocacy. Qualification and Experiences:

• Bachelor’s degree in law, sociology and or relevant field.
• At least 1 year of similar experience with I/NGOs and government specially in Terai region of Nepal. 
• Good skill in community development, empowerment, networking, lobby and advocacy, communication  with community and different stakeholders
• Knowledge on financial management and staff supervision and development
• Fluent in oral and written Nepali and English language and local languages (Tharu, Maithali)
• Willingness to stay and travel extensively in the project locations and ability to work under high pressure.
• Experience in planning, implementation and monitoring of ED projects in the communities.
• Skills in training, coaching, mentoring and capacity building of beneficiaries, partners and CBOs
• Valid two-wheeler driving license is mandatory and able to ride a motorcycle in rural environment.

2. Market System Development Officer (MSDO)

The Market system Development Officer (MSDO) bears lead responsibility and accountability of Entrepreneurship related component of project for promoting of livelihood support to low income community and women's group in local level business. He/she will manage his/her 65% time for field supervision, reporting and documentation whereas 35% for documentation, review and supportive activities to the PC. 

Qualification and Experiences:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business management, Enterprise Development and or relevant field.
• At least 1 year of similar experience with I/NGOs and government especially in Terai region of Nepal. 
• Solid working experience on marketing and business development sector and having creative idea and skill on business promotion through entrepreneurship. 
• Good skill in community development, empowerment, networking, lobby and advocacy and communication and analytical skills.
• Fluent in oral and written Nepali and English language and local languages (Tharu, Maithali) would be an added advantage.
• Valid two-wheeler driving license is mandatory and able to ride a motorcycle in rural environment.
