Association for Rural Social Welfare Nepal (ARSOW Nepal), the leading NGO based in Kavre district working in the various sectors i.e. WASH, Livelihood, Social Mobilization, and Disaster Risk Management. Currently, ARSOW Nepal is seeking qualified; result oriented and self-motivated Nepali citizens for the following positions under its Integrated Comprehensive Recovery Program for Thangpal Valley Sindhupalchok in partnership with Triangle Génération Humanitaire. The project focuses its intervention on WASH, and Livelihoods in Panchpokhari Thangpal Rural Municipality of Sindhupalchok district. Candidates meeting mentioned criteria are highly encouraged to apply for the position. 

General functions

The 2 JTAs will have to ensure at the field level a smooth running of the activities related to Livelihood, especially the agriculture sector (1) (related to fields and crops management and improvement) and the veterinarian sector (1) (related to livestock health management and improvement).

One of the main duties to be conducted under the livelihood activities will be the agrarian diagnosis. It will be used as an initial assessment for the design of the other activities to be implemented during the entire program. The 2 JTAs will have a key role on this assessment.

Another important part of his/her duties will be to coordinate weekly with the members of the Rural Municipality in order to ensure that the ongoing project activities are in line with the needs and expectations of the local authorities. This includes the management of the information center which will be established within the scope of the project.

In order to successfully carry out his/her duties, the JTA needs to maintain at any time a good coordination and communication with the project team (especially the Livelihood Officer and the Social Mobilizers), the community members (farmers, breeders) and the local authorities (RM and Wards representatives).

1.Junior Technical Assistant (JTA) (Agriculture) : 1 

Duty Station: Panchpokhari Thangpal Rural Municipality, Sindhupalchowk District with frequent visits in the project intervention area.

Qualifications/experience required: 

  • Minimum educational background equivalent to 1.5-year Pre-Diploma in Agriculture science. 
  • Formal additional study/training in social development, organic farming, or other related areas; 
  • Experience working with local authorities and with an NGO.
  • Good knowledge of the rural Nepal and topography of Sindhupalchok,
  • Good communication skills and abale to communicate in English, 
  • Willing to work with various communities and cast groups.
  • Basic computer knowledge (email, word, excel).
  • Ready to work in rural areas with frequent travel by walk from one village to another.

2.Junior Technical Assistant (JTA) (Veterinarian and livestock): 1

Duty Station: Panchpokhari Thangpal Rural Municipality, Sindhupalchowk District with frequent visits in the project intervention area.

Qualifications/experience required: 

  • Minimum educational background equivalent to 1.5-year Pre-Diploma in Veterinarian science. 
  • Formal additional study/training in social development, livestock, or other related areas; 
  • Experience working with local authorities and with an NGO.
  • Good knowledge of the rural Nepal and topography of Sindhupalchok,
  • Good communication skills and able to communicate in English, 
  • Willing to work with various communities and cast groups.
  • Basic computer knowledge (email, word, excel).
  • Ready to work in rural areas with frequent travel by walk from one village to another.
