Job Description – Program Officer  

Fair Trade Group Nepal (FTG Nepal) is a Consortium of Fair Trading Organization in Nepal. The Organization seeks to promote advancement of the socio economic status of underprivileged producers across the country. To achieve this, it has been working towards developing constructive collaboration among the Fair Trading Organizations to influence policy and promote Fair Trade at national, regional and international levels.

FTG Nepal is seeking to recruit full time Professional as below: 

Position: Program Officer (PO) 

Type:  One year contract with possibility of extension

Duty Location: FTG Nepal Secretariat Office in Lalitpur

Reporting to: Director

Summary of Position:  

This position serves as a focal person to lead, facilitate and support FTG Nepal’s project titled “Enhancing Livelihood Resilience through Fair Trade”. The project aims to contribute to poverty reduction through Fair trade targeting women and youth from marginalized communities. The PO will also support in program and developing other projects. This position requires frequent travel in the project districts as per requirement.  

Work experience, skills and qualifications

  • Minimum two years of experience of managing programs and projects, preferably sustainable livelihood; 
  • Experience of designing and conducting baseline assessments, developing and conducting M&E of the projects; 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Social Work, Non-Profit Management or related field 
  • Good interpersonal communication skills and presentation skills with experience in advocacy and communication strategies  
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, work well under pressure and meet deadlines. 
  • Fluency in written and spoken English with ability to translate from English to Nepali and vice versa.
