VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

1. About the Organization 

Shanti Nepal is a value-based social organization with a vision of wholistic transformation of Nepali community particularly the poor and marginalized communities. Registered in Lalitpur District of Nepal and started its work since 2004, it has five running projects in four districts of three provinces of Nepal in Health, WASH and Sustainable Livelihoods along with few crosscutting issues. 

2. Header

Position: Executive Director

Organization Name: Shanti Nepal

Duty Station: Talchhikhel, Lalitpur with periodic visits to the projects

Deadline: July 30th,2026 (Shrawan 14th 2083)

Type of contract: Time-bound contract with potential extention

3. Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Guide and implement the strategic plan set by the Board of Directors.
  • Resource Mobilization: Lead proposal development and build relationships with international donors and funding agencies.
  • Program Management: Oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of all projects.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to the rules of the Social Welfare Council (SWC) and government regulations and abide by the organizational policies.
  • Representation: Act as the primary liaison with government bodies, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Human Resource Management: lead the project/administration staff recruitment process, demonstrate good team work, facilitate staff capacity building, conflict handling and motivation skills.
  • Organizational Policy Formulation: Facilitate the board for development/revision of the organizational policies and procedures.

4. Required Qualifications, Competencies and commitment

  • Education: Master's degree in Social Science, Development Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a senior management/leadership role within the NGO/INGO sector.
  • Skills: Strong fundraising, proposal writing and documentation skills, communication and financial management skills.
  • Language and culture: Fluency in English and Nepali in written and oral presentation and can well adapt and is sensitive to multicultures. 
  • Integrity and Inclusion: Demonstrated commitment to the organizational vision, mission and core values, ethical standards, GEDSI policies, accountability, and the organization's Code of Conduct.
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making: Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify challenges, make sound decisions, recommend practical solutions, and adapt interventions to changing contexts.

5. Salary and Benefits
