Vacancy Announcement

Closing date: 21 May, 2019 at 11:59 PM (Nepal time)

Restless Development, the youth-led development agency, has been the global leader in engaging and supporting young people to address the most urgent issues affecting their lives, communities and countries since 1985. At Restless Development, we’re proud to be the banner carrier for youth-led development, demonstrating from the grassroots to the global policy levels that young people can and must play a lead role in development. As a result, Restless Development is repeatedly cited as a model of best practice in youth-led development by the World Bank, the UK Department for International Development (DFID), UNICEF, UNAIDS and others.

ZT- GBV free school program  is a collaborative effort between USAID and UNICEF, which is executed by Restless Development in partnership with district partners in Parsa, Rautahat, Dhanusha and Mahottari to reduce the prevalence of school-related gender-based violence in Nepal, and establish child- and adolescent-friendly procedures to respond to incidents of GBV when they do occur. The program leverages ongoing work, establishing or strengthening connections between education and child protection actors to ensure that schools are free from gender-based violence in all its forms. Through training, mapping, advocacy and awareness activities, school actors gain knowledge of child rights, the impact of GBV, including child marriage and the legal and social consequences. To complement prevention activities, the program also undertook the development of a systematic reporting and referral mechanism to monitor and respond to incidents of school-related gender-based violence to ensure that learners who are victims or at risk of violence are appropriately supported and have access to child- and adolescent-friendly services. The program activities supported to create learning environments that are GBV-free, and where girls and boys are empowered to protect themselves and counter harmful social norms and practices.
