Community Development & Advocacy Forum Nepal (CDAFN) Bardibas, Mahottari is a NGO dedicated to uphold the rights of marginalized and excluded communities through its interventions on Health, Education , Livelihood, Protection and Climate Change Adaptation Mitigation, Chure Conservation, Disaster Risk Reduction Management, Biodiversity Conservation and Humanitarian Support including Organizational Development and GEDSI. It works with a vision for Building a Civilized and Prosperous Society with Equality and Social Justice in Nepal since 2006. It works with a mission to improve the lives of people through economic, social, cultural and physical transformation. It has been implementing Sponsorship-Project in Mahottari District in partnership with Save the Children International Nepal.

Position: Civil Engineer

Required No.: 1 (One)

Duty Station: Project Office Bardibas/Aurahi (70% field visit in project area)

Report to: Project Coordinator/Field Manager

Required qualification, experience, skill and knowledge:

At least Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university. Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in construction/renovation of Buildings and other small scale community infrastructure, Strong understanding of structural Drawing, Construction Sites planning and engineering aspects of buildings construction, Proficiency in construction planning tools, AutoCAD, MS Project, perfect in IPC billing or similar software is preferred, Experience in construction of build projects using CSEB, Flexible and motivated to work in remote communities of Nepal, Valid 2-wheeler driving license preferred.

Skills:

• Community mobilization, skill on budget, planning, monitoring and documentation.
• Leadership skills to effectively manage a diverse group of professionals working on one project.
• Ability to speak local language of the district/community.
• Knowledge on green and climate resilient construction
• Ability to speak local language of the district/community.
• Basic computer skill word, spread sheet and power point and AutoCAD is mandatory.

This position involves regular contact with children and young people.
