VACANCY NOTICE

Position: Individual Technical Consultant (Civil Sub-Engineer)

Organization: Prayatnashil Community Development Society (PRAYAS Nepal)

Project: Securing Access for Education (SAFE Project)

Duty station: Benighat Rorang–6, Syadul, Dhading (with field visits to other project areas)

Contract Type: Short-term consultancy (approx. 5 months)

PRAYAS Nepal, in partnership with ChildFund Japan, is implementing the SAFE Project to ensure safe, inclusive, and enabling learning environments in 19 public schools of Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality, Dhading.

We are seeking a qualified consultant (Civil Sub-Engineer) to provide technical supervision, quality assurance, and compliance oversight for school WASH infrastructure, including GEDSI-responsive toilets and communal handwashing facilities. The Consultant will report to the Project Manager (PRAYAS NEPAL) and coordinate with the Engineering Manager (ChildFund Japan Nepal Office) ensuring donor-compliant implementation.

Key Requirements:

• Diploma or Intermediate in Civil Engineering (DCE/IE Civil)
• Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in school or community-based WASH construction
• Knowledge of building codes, construction standards, quality assurance, and donor-funded project compliance
• Familiarity with child safeguarding, GEDSI, and participatory approaches
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and reporting
• Valid two-wheeler license and ability to travel in rural/off-road areas
