Bagmati Welfare Society Nepal (BWSN) is a Non-Governmental Organization implementing different development and humanitarian projects/programmes in different local-level units of all districts of Province No 1 and 2 in Nepal. BWSN is currently looking for the following human resources for the Improvement of Hygiene Behaviour in Schools and Health Care Facilities- IHBSH Project in Siraha, Nepal.
Job Purpose: These positions will support the Project Coordinator to contribute to the overall accomplishment of project objectives and targets with a specific focus on hygiene promotion. S/he will support Schools and Health Care Facilities (HCFs) to implement IHBSH Project in close coordination with Local Governments to support them to implement and practice monthly Hygiene Sessions in each project school and HCF. The incumbents will also support project monitoring, evaluation, documentation and reporting, leads in meetings and workshop facilitation, institutional and community-level mobilisation and capacity building of the key stakeholders to practice sustained hygiene behaviour with sustained WASH facilities with regular and proper operation and maintenance.
1. Hygiene Promotion Officer (1)
Required Education, Experience and Competencies:
- At least 2 years of similar experience with NGOs and governments.
- At least Bachelor's degree in public health, environmental science, social sciences, development studies, or equivalent degree from a recognized university.
- Solid working experience in WASH, particularly focusing on hygiene promotion at institutional (WASH in School and WASH in HCF) and community levels.
- Experiences with School/Community Lead Total Sanitation (S/CLTS) approaches.
- Event management, stakeholder engagement, influencing capacity, effective coordination and communication.
- Knowledge and skills in rights-based approaches, GESI.
- Willingness to travel extensively in the project locations and ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to prepare outcome reports reflecting the problem/learnings with possible solutions.
- Skill in community mobilisation and municipal and ward-level coordination.
- Report writing in English and Nepali languages.
- Can work in MS Office (especially PowerPoint, Word, Excel), and email internet.
- Having a valid driving license and own two-wheelers would be an advantage.
- Speaking local languages from Madhesh Province (especially Maithili) fluently would be an added advantage.
2. Hygiene Promoter (few)
Required Education, Experience and Competencies:
- At least 2 years of similar experience with NGOs and government.
- At least +2 level passed in health-related subjects (Health Assistant-HA, Staff Nurse, etc.), social sciences, development studies, or equivalent degree from a recognized university.
- Solid working experience in WASH, particularly focusing on hygiene promotion at institutional (WASH in School and WASH in HCF) and community levels.
- Experiences with School/Community Lead Total Sanitation (S/CLTS) approaches.
- Skill in community mobilization and municipal and ward-level coordination.
- Ability to organize and facilitate meetings and orientations and maintain minutes.
- Perform as a facilitator during meetings, orientations and workshops.
- Proactive and multitasking.
- Ability to prepare field-level reports reflecting the problem/learnings with possible solutions.
- Event management, stakeholder engagement, influencing capacity, effective coordination and communication.
- Knowledge and skills in rights-based approaches, GESI.
- Willingness to travel extensively in the project locations and ability to work under pressure.
