    Centre for Mental Health and Counselling – Nepal (CMC-Nepal), an NGO working in the field of mental health and psychosocial support since 2003, is inviting applications for the following position.

    1.    Human Resource Manager (1 full time position, based in CMC-Nepal’s Central office, Kathmandu) is responsible for the development and implementation of HR strategies, policies, systems and plan, planning and staffing for human resource needs, management and development of staff performance, and develop effective employee relationship programs.

    Major Job Responsibilities

  • a) Development and administration of personnel rules and regulations, HR strategy, post criteria or structure, and programs for employee training, safety, health, and retention.
  • b) Design, operate, coordinate, and monitor operational systems for managing necessary human resource functions to implement the approved policies.
  • Update position descriptions in the organization according to the need in consultation with the respective line managers, and consulting executive director (ED) and technical director (TD).
  • c) Establish standard recruiting and placement practices and procedures as suggested and directed by CMC-Nepal’s personnel policy.
  • d) Manage the recruiting and hiring process, provide policy orientation to the newly recruited staff, and reinforce them regularly and manage termination where necessary.
  • e) Handle grievance in coordination with the organization leadership and complain handling committee of the organization.
  • f) Work with executive director and technical director to develop CMC-Nepal’s annual staff development plan in line with human resource development guideline.
  • g) Review, develop, and implement effective employee performance management system, aligned with HRM guidelines; train staff and provide advice and support for performance management issues.
  • h) Support program coordinator to assess performance of various project biannually, recommend skill improvement plan to TD and ED.
  • i) Review and recommend employee benefit programs, and security, safety and health program to executive committee through TD and ED for approval and implementation.


Qualification, experience and skills:

a) Master’s Degree in human resource development or related field.
b) Minimum 8-year experience in Human Resources Administration work, with at least 5-year experience as a manager.
c) Having strong managerial and leadership skills, general knowledge of the principles and practices of Human Resources Administration, outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching skills.
d) Understanding of labor, taxation law, and other applicable rules and regulations in Nepal.
e) Have a passion for CMC-Nepal’s mission and a strong desire to impact an up-and-coming non-profit organization, be an innovative and creative thinker.
f) Demonstrate ability to work in multi-sectoral approach and establish harmonious and effective working relationships both within and outside the organization.
