OHW works with local communities and local health service providers to develop a culturally appropriate Network of Safety around mothers and infants, by raising awareness, teaching good practices, and distributing essential equipment to ensure that mothers and infants survive delivery and the first months of life.

Job Description

Position: Training Field Supervisor - Transition district

Line Management Report To: Sr. Program Coordinator- Central Regional Office (CRO)- Kathmandu

T echnical Report To: N/A

Supervision: N/A

Duty Station: District Headquarter of Sindhupalchok district with minimum 50% field visits

Purpose of the Position:

Under the direct supervision of the Sr. Program Coordinator, The Training Field Supervisor’s primarily functionis to monitor the transition process in order to sustain the One Heart World-Wide’s investment. This personal will be responsible for the liaison and coordination with district, municipals, and health facility level stakeholder.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Program Support

  • Oversee OHW transition activities at district level
  • Collect, monitor and analyze OHW’s key performance indicators
  • Perform Quality of Care assessment follow ups of birthing centers and SBA onsite coaching & mentoring activity follow ups
  • Technical support to palikas and HFOMC in planning and budgeting for maternal and newborn health services and data recording & reporting
  • Advocate municipalities for local resource mobilization like budgeting for maternal and newborn health services
  • Provide technical assistance in MNH related activities eg. SBA onsite coaching and mentoring, MNH update training to Palika and DHO
  • Regular follow ups with birthing centers, service providers, FCHVs in relation to maternal and newborn health
  • Support M&E team in the end line survey at the end of the transition phase
  • Conduct maternal and newborn death monitoring
  • Coordination and Liaison
  • Coordinate with palikas, HFOMC, district health office, health facilities and other stake holders in the local level for smooth implementation of MNH related programs

Job Specifications (minimum job requirements):

Academic qualifications and work experience:

  • Bachelors in nursing with minimum two year of experience in related areas.
  • Skills and abilities
  • Willing to make regular field trips independently
  • Have good understanding of Nepal’s health care delivery system
  • Demonstrated experience in MS office package and basic computer applications
  • Ability to interact with government stakeholders and employees
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Nepali
